"I really don't know, I haven't seen him at the house once in nearly a week now..." Unwilling to start eating, Archon politely but awkwardly sat and waited for someone else to take the initiative. For him, the table was the exact opposite from the bed. He was withdrawn, asocial and nearly silent when he ate.

That's quite odd for him... He's normally in everyone's way unless he has something either on his mind, or to prove...
**Dishing some of the salad onto the plates and passing a few sandwitchesround to everyone, Raiden decided to break some of the tension and dig in.**
Definatly odd... He's working harder than I do when I practise hard...

"Well, that doesn't make much sense to me... I'll, um... I'll go ask Linx later. Linx knows everything." This was only a slight exaggeration in Archon's mind. It seemed that there was no keeping a secret from that mouse. If something happened with Lars, there had to be an answer relating to it from him. Maybe the only thing Linx didn't know was how delicious the sandwiches were.

Okay... Be sure to let us know what you find out please...
**Digging into her own lunch, Amathyst thought back to some of her past experiences... Of cause, dwelling the most on her memory of falling in love with Archon. It was just something about him that really made her fall for him... But then again, why look for that one part of him, when she could love the whole of him?**

"Maybe he knows if it'll be a boy or girl," Archon mused idly, barely touching his food despite how delicious it was. It wasn't that he wanted to savor it as much as the stress of the situation weighing on him and making it hard to upset his stomach any further with food, of all things. "Or twins, or triplets... I dunno. Just have to wait, I guess."

Being a bit over-eager are you? We all found out today, and you're thinking about twins or triplets? I'd just be happy with one child... But two or three's also nice.

"I really don't know," Archon responded with a shrug. All he wanted was an answer, regardless of its actual content. "I just want to, though. There has to be a way to find this stuff out, though, I mean..." There wasn't one. Being left in the dark was one of the most frustrating things Archon ever had to endure, and now he was clueless about something as imperative as his offspring.

I want to know too, but I'm just as clueless as you are... Maybe there'd be a way to find out in the future, but not now. All we can do is wait and see I guess...
**Having finished rather quickly, Amathyst pushed her plate away from her.**

Archon, on the other hand, had barely touched his food and did little different now than before. The idea of simply not knowing was so frightening that he was encountering all of the nervousness he'd been able to sidestep before. "Well, yeah... We're just gonna have to wait. ...I can't eat anything right now," the mouse eventually added, looking down at his obviously unfinished plate.

That's gonna be hard for us both to do... Waiting is always the hardest part.
That's alright... I think you've just got too much on your mind to eat at this moment.
Waiting and nerves. Not a good combination if you ask me.

"Is there anyone you know who disagrees with that statement?" Raiden seemed to have the tendency to say the painfully obvious, in Archon's mind, anyway. Out of all the family's comments, that seemed to be the least useful of all of them. The mouse couldn't help but reflect on how poorly that mouse performed off the battlefield.

There's the odd few who think they mix well... But that's just weird. Even compared to me.
No offence dad, but you think a lot of stuff's weird...
... That's true.

"I gotta agree with him, though," Archon sighed after a few seconds' silence. The last thing he wanted to happen was for them to get off topic when the actual topic was such a big deal to him. "I'm just left here all tense and apprehensive and wondering if this was actually that good idea and I'm gonna have to be like this for months and then I'm gonna have a kid around for the rest of my life! How am I supposed to feel?"

Nervous as anything. I know I was. Life's always gonna throw that upset or twist when you least expect it...
Dad, that's enough insight now... Archon, I'm just as nervous as you are. This is a major change in both our lives, and the scale of it is unimaginable for me.
**In what seemed like a spur of the moment kind of thing, Amathyst stood up, half hauled Archon up, and pulled him into a tight hug... all the while, with Zahi and Raiden watching, but her not caring about that little detail.**

Archon didn't exactly care about the hug in front of Amathyst's parents. He was sour with Raiden about all of the useless rambling, anyway, so it wasn't like he regretted clasping his mate to himself in his arms in front of the mouse. The fact of the matter was that the mouse he was in such a tight embrace with was going to be a mother, which, on its own, was tough to absorb. The real rub was that he was going to be a father.
