Linx finished his running above the inner wall's main gate, up on the ramparts. The wall guard had gotten used enough to his presence to just ignore him constantly passing by, and as he passed each on on the way to the gate, they didn't show any sign of acknowledging him at all. Slowing to a walk about fifty feet from his finishing point, the mouse eventually collapsed and sat against the wall, panting hard as he mentally diagnosed his body to find most of it to apparently be on fire.
Dressed in just a stunningly clean white vest, dark gray, comfortably fitting shorts and devoid of any footwear at all, the mouse would have attracted a lot of attention if he weren't around so much of the time in the first place. With his bare, excruciatingly sore footpaws on the stone ramparts out on either side of him and his arms grasping the undersides of his tortured thighs, he looked ever-so-slightly provocative just sitting there and panting.
The mouse didn't notice much around him. He was too busy with trying to cope with his omnipresent pain from running so hard. His diaphragm was making breathing painful, and his heart was making existing painful. Not much made it into his head right then.

Justyn pulled an apple out of his pack and bit into it as he walked toward the mouse so strangely positioned. Even though he couldn't remember well he remembered he had some sort of conflict with this one before... "Hello Linx, I see you running, a new hobby?" Justyn squatted down in front of the mouse now musing over the apparent pain in his face.

"No, not a hobby, it's training," Linx spat from the back of his throat. His voice came out a little dry-sounding, likely due to dehydration. The mouse's mouth felt like it was covered in glue and it made it hard to respond. It looked like it was that Justyn again. "Is that... Is that an apple? Why do you have an apple now?" It looked like random fruit was 'in' at the moment. Linx let his paws drop to the ground, baring yet more of his tortured legs to Justyn.

"You know, I'm not sure, I found it somewhere," Justyn looked intently into the mouses eyes, "training?" Justyn stood and looked around making sure he knew his surroundings...

"Yes, training," Linx panted as he stared right back. "I'm trying to keep a good physique, you know. Not that I don't get enough exercise without doing this... You so don't want to know about that..." It looked like this beast still didn't know his way around the village very well. He was looking at the ramparts like he was lost.

"Not particularly, I'll be honest with you, I don't remember much, or the reason why we didn't get along" Justyn looked at linx again, examining his eyes, " honestly I only half know who I am." Justyn dug through his pack and found his note for the sword he had to pick up again, " do you know what or who's this is?" He tossed it to his company.

Linx caught the note and read it. It looked like the logo for a forge in the market had been printed on it. "It looks like you have something to do with a store in the market. As for us not getting along... Well, it probably had to do with the content of my personal life or something like that. It doesn't really matter." The last thing he wanted to do was reopen that fissure between them. It would be no better now with his polygamic conquest.

Justyn held out his paw for the mouse to hold to, "well do you have an Idea where it might be?" Justyn's bandages had been removed, but he still hurt from over use of his back, hopefully that wouldn't happen any time soon though.

"I don't know where its exact location is, but I'm guessing in the blacksmith district of the market.. Why, do you need to find it?" Regaining his composure slightly, Linx took Justyn's paw and exerted the slightest force on it as he stood. "I mean... I could take you to the shop, but I'm plain exhausted right now, and I was planning to just head back to my house, which I doubt you should follow me to."

Justyn looked up from scanning the ground, "I need to know." all he stated, all he could state, all he would state. He looked at the surroundings again checking for any unusuall activity.

"Well, then, I'll take you to the shop. C'mon, we're heading out to the village, the market's out there..." Linx gestured to the gate directly beneath them and headed in the direction of the nearest stairwell, off to his left. There were plenty of ultra-secure stairwells on the walls, and he was apparently using one right then. "We'll just head down there and see what this not for some shop is about."

Justyn nodded and followed down the stairs. Security had been upgraded obviously due to the newer weapons, he noted, "what's the villiage like?" Justyn asked as he casually decended the stone stairs, perfecting his skill at decending gracefully.

Linx descended the stairs more mechanically than anything else. It didn't help that his legs were still burning incessantly. He did his best to try and answer Justyn's question, though. "What's the village like? Uh... There's a thin band of houses right around the fort, then the market south of that, then the rest of the houses. A lot of the refineries and workshops up are by the river. Population... 5,403, according to last week's census."

Justyn nodded, "hmm," he was more angry with himself than with anything else right now. Everything was slipping away in his consciousness and all he could do was barely grasp it. Justyn reached the bottom, "Do the villagers have pride?"

"Do they have pride... Well, it's not easy to say, you know, everyone's different... But as a whole, we have so many newcomers and foreign passersby here, it's impossible to try and be proud. Everyone ends up just being receptive in the hopes of making a good impression on those that have weight elsewhere." It appeared that they were passing Linx's house right then, its two-story shadow stretching far out onto the road. He decided not to comment on his living in it, just for the conversation's sake. That would have been pride kicking in.
