Elim had to admit that the house's technology was even better than he'd suspected. Not only did water run freely from a pipe protruding in the wall, it also gave hot and cold water as he wished. Having washed himself clean and put his dirty clothes in the hamper, he tried his best not to make his fur stand on end when drying himself off, which was harder than it sounded, by far. He donned the black robe that he'd been told about, unlocked the door and walked downstairs, feeling refreshed, invigorated and awfully alone.
The mouse in the living room smiled upon seeing the reasonable fit of the robe. He'd feared it would be too small but had forgotten that it was a bit too large for Mokwa. "Well, it'll keep you off the street until we can get you some larger clothes, anyway... Have fun up there?"

Lagg kept quiet as Elim came back downstairs. He could only watch the wolf where his mate's clothing. "..." Lagg tried to say something but no words came out.

"Is something distressing you, Lagg? I don't think I have done anything to harm you, besides exist," Elim laughed as he sat down on the third couch. He hadn't been able to sit down anywhere for some time and relished the feeling. "I'm gonna need to get some new clothes... Do any tailors around here do things for wolves?"
Archon chuckled at the thought. It'd cost a fortune to make clothing that large and they both knew it. Of course, it just so happened that fortunes were in season. "Probably, if Linx pays them to keep quiet."

Lagg liked the idea. "Ya! You should get Linx to pay for it! I mean, can't have you wearing something that's not fit for you!" smiled Lagg. Deep down, he just didn't want to see the wolf wearing Mokwa's clothes.

"Actually, it looks an all right fit to me," Elim shrugged while tugging on his robe's sleeve. He was trying to maintain a collected demeanor as best he could but Laggerung seemed to be trying to get him riled up. It was hard to not note that it was over nothing, of course. "But it belongs to that... Mokwa guy, right? I know, he isn't here, but I'm not a thief. I'm just wearing this because I don't want to scare you two away."

Lagg gave up and layed down on the couch. "Whatever..." said Lagg. He put his arm over his eyes, and almost started falling asleep.

This more than anything so far struck Elim as distressing. He promptly stood, walked over to where Laggerung had left a small bit of the couch open, and sat, quickly. It'd probably jolt him awake more than anything else. "There's a wolf in your house and you're falling asleep now? This is really sad. I'm just gonna... Try and not make myself useless around here..."
"What you should do is wait for Linx," Archon advised impassively. "He'll be able to get a job for you, possibly even employ you, and you might get a board here, too. What you should do now... Well, now you should wait, Elim." The fact that Laggerung was being extremely unstable bounced off him, intentionally.

"Well yes, I'm tired, and I've given up on you." said Lagg. No one noticed but a smile was on his face. He tried to make it go away.

"Given up on me? Since when were you trying?" Feeling oddly playful considering his situation, Elim reached over and gave Laggerung a light shake on the leg. He could have literally picked the otter up and thrown him into the wall if he wanted to, so he considered it a gesture of friendship that he was touching him in a non-violent way.

Lagg tackeled Elim. "Ya, well, you just have to know when someone's faking something, or if their serious!" said Lagg.

The tackle more or less bounced off the wolf. He gave the otter a half-disdainful, half-playful look for a few seconds, then suddenly clapped Laggerung on the back and brought the otter to his side in a one-pawed bear hug. "Oh, I love you too, Lagg."
Archon wasn't liking the tension. Eventually, he decided to just get out of the picture. "Know something, since you both don't deserve starving... I'll be back sometime," he sighed, rising slowly then heading in the direction of the kitchen. "Don't kill each other."

"We won't!" smiled Lagg. He looked at the Elim, and smiled. "love you..too?" asked Lagg. He didn't know if he had that strong of feeling towards Elim. "But..uh..i'm still not overly ok..with you wearing my mate's clothes. I'm sorry, it's just I'm trying not to think of him as much while he's gone." explained Lagg.

Elim promptly took his arm off Laggerung and looked at him curiously. He then looked down at his robe, then burst out laughing. "You have to be... You have to be kidding! You're with a monitor? Well, don't get mad about me being a wolf anymore... I'm sorry about the clothing thing, though," the wolf sighed, sobering up a bit. "But what do you want me to do, go around naked?"

"No, I'm just saying." said Lagg. "You can wear it, it just makes me miss him even more." said Lagg. He got up and sat on the couch.

"I apologize, Lagg, I wasn't aware that you were... Intimate with a monitor, that really must be interesting. I must admit, I've seen some odd couplings in my time, but that..." Having taken in the nature of the house's occupants in full and processed that, Elim realized that he was at mild risk of becoming intimately involved with its inhabitants. He didn't find this to be actually disconcerting as much as it was annoying; as much as he had a lot of free time, that was far from expected for him.
The wolf continued without waiting for response. "There are a lot of otters here, though... Thus the name of the fort, I suppose, and you went to a monitor. Of course, there's also everyone else in this entire house, but... You went to a different species, because you could. As long as I'm here, if I go to a different species it'll be because I have to."
