Aldar had been thinking about his family lately. Seeing his family and loved ones dead rushed through his head. If only I had been there, maybe then it would have been different. Maybe then I wouldn't have to live here, maybe then I... could see my family once More. Maybe then... I could see my brother again. Aldar slammed his fist against the ground. He had been very attached to his brother, who had actually saved him, losing his life just to save him. Aldar saw his brother, more skilled than Aldar at the time slaughtered... at the hands of some ragged vermin. How he despised those vermin. If only I had a chance... a chance to get that rat... back. I'll never forget the name... Curse eyes... thats what they called him.... if I ever see him again....
During these times of sorrow, Aldar went out into the woods, to visit his old survival shelter from before he moved to Otter's Fort. After telling friends, but not family, for he had none. Fully supplied he set out twords the gates. Ellich came up. "What do you want Ellich?" Aldar had somewhat of a monotonous voice, for he was still deep in thought. Ellich responded quickly. "Mind if I come with you?" Aldar thought for a moment, then decided that it would be fine to have the squirrel around. He noticed that Ellich already had all of his stuff together in a pack obviously made by him. Aldar had seen no one else in the fort with one like it. "Right then, if you have everything we can set out." Aldar and Ellich walked out of the fort together at the same pace. There was something to like about that squirrel, and Aldar couldn't help but to like him, even though days earlier he had insulted and attacked him.
Ellich had actually told Linx this time he was going, then maybe he wouldn't run after him, even though Ellich only approached him for those couple of words, afterwords just walking away. He hoped to gain a friendship with Aldar, after all he was on a role. After gaining the Friendship of Cressida he thought maybe he could gain that of Aldar's.
The two walked on. A light cool breeze filled the air as the two travelers set off. Aldar was still deep in thought, while Ellich strolled around with a little grin on his face.
They had gotten to the forest. All sorts of trees were scattered around the outskirts, but before them was a much denser forest. Ellich lost all ability to know where he was, but Aldar seemed to know exactly where they were going, so Ellich didn't get worried. Ellich couldn't spot it at first, but they had arrived at Aldar's little hut. It was directly under a large oak tree, a whole was dug into the ground with a Oak camouflaged door. Aldar laughed at how clueless Ellich was, but Aldar had made it for the sole purpose to not be seen.
It was a snug fit to get through, and the travelers had to crouch down to fit through the doorway, but after that was a nice dug out hut. Ellich thought of it as a bit homey. Both unpacked and Aldar had started a fire. The marvelous thing about the hut was that you could start a fire. Aldar had made vent holes in the ground to let fresh air in. After having a light meal Aldar had walked outside. Ellich decided staying inside, after all there was a toasty warm fire.
Someone was coming. Aldar hid behind a tree and listened. Who was coming? No one had told him about others, but Aldar prepared for the worst. After all it could be a vermin.
