Linx didn't have time to check whether Ellich was still alive or not. He had burned through half his magazine and hadn't missed yet. After 20 rounds were gone, it looked like the rest of them were running away. The mouse ceased fire to examine Ellich... It wasn't a barbed arrow, that was obvious by the shape of the wound, he could pull it out immediately. And that he did.

Ellich started gaining control of his body past then and tried to get up but failed again and again passing out every couple of seconds for he had never sustained a wound like this. "Uh ehe ehh whaa?" It was about the only sound he could make at the time.

It was clear that Ellich was incapable of doing anything with this wound. Linx didn't need to actually examine it– It was an arrow wound that had just had the arrow removed. Trying to tend to it out here would be risky and pointless, and it didn't appear that the wound was critically deep judging by the rate of bleeding. The mouse took a few seconds to decide what to do and eventually picked the semi-conscious form up in his paws so he could treat him somewhere safer, if not at the fort itself.

Almost unaware that Linx had picked him up he even tried to struggle free from Linx's arms. Though there was no chance of that, and eventually he gave up once more.

Linx could feel Ellich struggling in his grip, but that wasn't going to change much... Not even the rate at which he walked. Just back to the forest. Just get back into the forest and you can dress this wound. Why is he struggling?

Ellich went limp after struggling once more. He didnt wake up until a while later.

OOC: You mean wake up?
BIC: Linx noted that Ellich was losing consciousness and this only increased his pace. The squirrel's rate of breathing was mercifully steady, though... The trees at the forest fringe approached and then engulfed the both of them. Nearly as soon as they had some shelter, Linx set Ellich on the ground so he could go for the medical kit in his pack. All he needed to do was bandage this wound... Poor guy, goes out to fly a kite and gets hit by an arrow... At least it didn't pierce a lung.

Ellich awoke some time later with a bandadge around his back. "Uhhhgh.... wha...what happened." Ellich tried to sit up only to wince in pain and hit the ground quickly again. "Aghh my back." he groaned. Ellich saw where Linx was sitting. "Ehh thanks..." Ellich was truely grateful to Linx, after all he just saved his life.

"Well... It's what I do, you know?" Linx didn't feel much about it. These days he found killing the opposition mercilessly and saving his allies time and time again to just be... Normal. He had stopped the bleeding with little difficulty, and it didn't take too much thought to patch the beast up, but all the squirrel's clothing that used to be on his upper body was now neatly folded next to him, seeing as it would be impossible to treat the wound with him still clothed. A vague sense of concern arose within him at the thought of Ellich being discomforted by the biting cold.
"Try not to move," Linx added after a few seconds' pause. "That wound is still open, don't aggravate it by moving around, OK? Just try and relax..." They could stay here for a few hours if needed, then return to the fort. Linx wasn't equipped to sustain two beasts for that long. A rather superficial thought occurred to him as he glanced out to the flatlands through the mass of tree trunks obscuring most of his vision, and he decided to speak on it. "Uh... Sorry about your kite thing. You're gonna have to rebuild it, I have no idea where it landed..."

"Ehh its fine i got a couple more back at the shop. You can have one if you like, they are really easy to make." Ellich then found that he was getting quite cold. "Brrr its getting cold out here." Ellich started rubbing his arms to stay warm. Oh wait, see my pack over there. Ive got flint, steel, and a firestarter in there. If you want you can make a fire."

"I have similar materials in mine... But I don't think it would be very smart to start giving off smoke right now, you know?" As much as Linx regretted it, making a fire right then wouldn't be a desirable choice. If there were any more vermin, they would see the smoke, follow it to its source and then what? "Sorry about the cold part..." I dunno what to do about that for him...

"Yeah I guess your right." Ellich put is head back and looked up at the trees. "So what do we do now?" Ellich started shivering, "Though a fire would be nice... eh thats ok."

Linx looked up from his pack to see Ellich shivering profusely. "Hey, Ellich, are you all right? I mean, what with the being all cold... I don't think it'd be smart to put a shirt on right now, but if there's anything I can..." What can I do?

"Eh its fine..." Really though it wasnt Ellich was getting hypothermia and without warmth soon he could be in big trouble.

"Yeah, right." Linx walked over to where Ellich was, sat down beside him, removed his jacket and put his arms around the squirrel's shivering body. It's platonic and you know it.
