Tallone dropped the long bow and took a hold of her Great Bow, pulling from the quiver on her left shoulder a red-fletched arrow. It was a very long arrow, about a third larger than a normal arrow, just as her Great Bow was about half as tall again as a long bow.

Linx passed a repeater to Archon before cocking his own. "OK... I'll shoot at the stuff now."

"Hey mates mind if I shoot next to ya?" Aldar started walking up to the group.

"Uh, sure..." Archon took his repeater, cocked it and left it pointing at the target while he addressed Aldar.

Tallone raised her bow horizontally, which was a feat in itself, as it weighed more than half her own weight, notched the long arrow, and took aim at a target, sighting as straight as she could down the length of the weapon.

OOC: It's taller than you anyway...
BIC: Linx fired first. He aimed at the target Tallone was to shoot at. His light repeater, carrying far more sophisticated sights than any bow, sent a round straight through the bullseye. He invented the thing, he had to have tested it a lot...

Tallone grinned and let the arrow fly, sending it straight through the hole left by the round, expanding it slightly, at least, making it wider. She had designed her own bow to deliberatly not match her height. She found it easier to arch that way..

OOC: How thick are your arrows? Standard repeater bolts are .475 inches diameter.
BIC: "Good shot," Archon commented before taking one himself, at the same target. His aim was rather shaky, mainly from tense nerves, and his shot ended up making a glancing hit halfway on the target, halfway off, on the upper-left rim. The mouse didn't react to this miserable shot, he didn't say anything, he didn't even lower his weapon or move in any other manner. He was frozen with his trigger depressed and repeater leveled, the weapon's muzzle quivering slightly.

((The arrow heads are wide, and as thin as they can be while still being strong. The shafts themselves are maybe a half milimeter more in diameter))
Tallone stopped,. almost afraid of the mouse as he just stood there.

OOC: I was talking about the shaft diameter.
BIC: Archon didn't move for some thirty seconds. His grip gradually tightened on his weapon until his knuckles were so white they shone right through his fur. Eventually he just dropped the repeater on the ground and let his arms fall loosely to his side. "When did I start being generally incompetent?"

Tallone blushed under her fur as she thought of something that might help him, but she dared not voice this something allowed. Maybe he'd played beta too long and needed to take a turn as alpha...

OOC: Actually, he tried that and they ruled it out immediately, too hard on Linx. (...Didn't mean for it to sound quite like that.)
BIC: "C'mon, I'm not getting anything..." Archon cocked his repeater and took another shot, taking just a few seconds to aim. His shot was far too high. It pinged off a brick wall some serious distance away, harmless at that range. "Maybe sometime I'll hit it."
Linx noticed Tallone acting a bit... Contemplative, but said nothing.

Tallone winced at the loud ping and duck as a piece of ricochete zinged past her ear.

Archon dropped the repeater, again, this time sitting down on the ground next to it. "Great day..."
Linx immediately headed over and squatted next to his mate, partially to make himself feel less guilty. "Sorry..."

Tallone shouldered her bow and walked away to where she had dropped the other, wanting to give them space for the simple reason that she had never feared a creature mor ein her life time, than she did Archon when he was upset...
