**Raiden sat at the tavern's bar, the remnants of lunch next to him while a mug of cordial in his paw. For him, having a day off was a luxury he couldn't afford to have too often any more... Which was why he was making the day count.**
Wow... Slow day today...

Now that he had food whenever he wanted at the house, Linx visited the tavern much less often. In fact, he wasn't planning to at all, having already eaten his lunch, but some redirections from the barracks told him that Raiden might be around; this was shown to be true. He opened the tavern doors, took a few seconds to locate the mouse he was looking for, and then promptly walked over.
Sitting down next to him with a wide grin, Linx nodded to the near-empty plate but reasonably full mug. "Hey, I've been looking all over the place for you! ...How are things?"

Hectic... Been helping Ama move into her new place, been doing all sorts all week... And today, I'm enjoying my first day off for weeks...
**Pausing to take a sip from his mug, Raiden nodded at his companion.**
Enough about me, what about you?

"Heh, you took about two sentences for what's going on with you, um... I'm doing pretty well, not much happening for a change... I'm a little lower on coins than usual, just put in a big chunk of gold to help out with the steel-clad project, but we're alive over here." Linx glanced back to the door, then to Raiden. It was still ajar and nobody seemed keen on adjusting it. Then again, there was next to nobody in the bar. "New place? Where is it?"

It's in the village, a nice one-floor place, two bedrooms, kitchen, front room, spare room, hall... As advanced as the majority of places here are...
**Taking another sip, Raiden nodded.**
How's my contribution being used? Well I hope.

Nodding at Raiden's description of Amathyst's new residence, Linx felt an overwhelming need to move off the subject. After all, all he could think about was how much his own home dwarfed this; even if shared, it was just huge. "Your contribution was the primary private funding for it, I'm also blowing about half my budget for the month on it. It's coming along quickly, though."

Uh-huh... So definatly well-spent... I make too much money on the battlefield don't I?

"No, not at all, Raiden, I make more through plain old business alone!" Linx failed to restrain a grin on his face after this comment. "And I do benefit from spoils just like you, so... Don't tell me about making too much." Of course, the fact that he was the richest, most powerful mouse in the fort by far and possibly a de facto ruler of its populace had to be considered. He didn't have much of an objective point of view.

My shop's not quite as successful as yours, but my true store is the battlefield I guess... Not much else a warrior like can call a shop if it's not the battlefield. If I find vermin coin purses, I get paid... Simple as that...

"If you don't, you don't. Not good enough for a tyrant like me," Linx pointed out with yet another one of his grins. Constant conquest was an omnipresent theme of his life. Now that he had exhausted technological and military conquests, his only other such venue had to be explored– Conquest of a more intimate nature. Not that he hadn't already tried something like that with Lars, but one more mate was better than one less due to drowning. And not that this was why he was looking for Raiden, either. "I get a lot of stuff."

I know... Most of it being the money I "earn"...
**Raiden chuckled at his words... It was his contibutions that had made several of Linx's inventions possible... Like the CAR for one. His money had gone on deveolping a way to mass-produce the ammo.**

"Most, but not a lot... You know, ever since the stuff for the bullet former, you haven't been doing that much lately in the way of contributions, uh... Not that it really matters, though, I'm doing fantastic even without those, and you seem to have a history of ending up giving me a lot more than money." Linx was unsure what to do with that particular facet of their past. It was impossible to ignore, especially on his own side of it, and now there was always this tension whenever he was around Raiden that typically ended up turning into all-out desire in minutes. You and conquest. It isn't even gonna stop!

Other than my part for the Steel-clad? Well, you haven't told me about anything new or interesting for a while... But yeah... I always seem to give you money one way or another...
**Setting his mug down, Raiden stretched his arms a bit.**
Well, I still have some time to burn... Not that I know what to do with it...

"You... You don't, huh?" Linx gave Raiden a long, slow look for a hefty amount of time before opening his mouth again. His words could decide a lot... Or at least say something about his own opinion on the matter. "Well, you know, it's not just that ship that's made of steel."

Okay, I'll bite... Other than a sword, what else is made from steel?
