This meant Linx's paw was free as well. He swung it backwards to allow for more momentum as he attempted to deliver a pivoting side kick to Terg's lower ribs, which could probably break something if he didn't let go of the broadsword. Linx didn't really have the upper paw with grip on his weapon, more equal, but he was the one with Terg's sword locked in his.

*Terg jumped back letting go of the broadsword. The blow grazed his stomache sending him toppling backwards. *

Linx crouched down, closely watching Terg as he picked up the broadsword and eventually tossed it in front of the otter's footpaws. The sword was very heavy, almost to the point of being unwieldy, but it wasn't his to judge, and if it hindered his opponent, all the better for him. "Here, take your sword," he offered while rising back to a standing posture.

*Terg eyes Linx. He picks up the broadsword.* Thanks.

"My pleasure." Linx resumed an easy fighting stance, awaiting Terg's next move. His broadsword was heavy, wide and could do some real damage even to his own weapon. But it was very large and dense. One swing would compromise his balance long enough for Linx to get him down on his back again, and its mass meant Terg could move it only so quickly. All he had to do was find a weak point, and there would certainly be plenty of those.

*Terg stepped forward and suddenly stabbed his sword into the ground and dropped to the ground. He swung out with his legs trying to trip Linx.*

Linx hopped backwards, evading the trip, then rushed back forwards with a lunge of his sword at Terg's side. His opponent's sword was still driven into the ground and would take a bit too long to remove.

*Terg rolled out of the way and drew his dirk. He had his back to his sword so he slowly backed up until he was next to the sword. Then he sheathed his dirk and pulled at his sword.*

Linx didn't even bother to wait for him to finish before making another lunge, this one at his paws on the sword. He wasn't keen on letting Terg get that huge blade where he could use it again.

*Terg pulled hard. The sword came part way out of the dirt. Terg let go of the sword. He had to defend himself now. He'd get back to the sword later.*

The first round is now over. I will now deliberate with myself and decide who the two finalists will be.

I declare Linx the winner. I forgot why, but that's irrelevant in Finnerator's book. If you would like a better reply email me.
