Considering that all they were doing was heading off to investigate some vermin attacks that had happened days, if not weeks before, Archon was ridiculously well-armed. He carried a typical complement of palm daggers concealed beneath his clothing, and a pair of punching spikes underneath his coat; that would have been sufficient already. Rather than leave it at that, though, the mouse apparently felt the need to carry a rake sword hanging off his belt, his custom-furnished bolt repeater over his back and a pair of pulverizer gloves over his paws. He could have taken on twenty vermin right then, completely unprepared mentally, with the armament he had, and lived.
He was more mentally prepared for seeing some others arrive. The mouse had arrived five minutes before they were due to leave and had expected everyone to already have checked in at the gatehouse, but he was all by himself. He couldn't help but make a mental note that despite all the new training, squad members were still taking a lot of time to arrive at missions on time. This would probably result in... More training. Or just disciplining of anyone that was actually late.
With about three minutes before the designated deployment time, Archon felt increasingly stressed at the idea of nobody even showing up. This was an imperative issue they had to go face, and he didn't want to have to explain to his superiors how he failed the entire fort by being unable to go out and comply with a simple order. That would probably end up passing damage on to his squad members, anyway. Get over here already!
