"No, I meant I have a house and money and a job too..." Emeral became quick tempered these days, and even mistaking what she said made her angry enough to just want to punch him, but respectively she didn't.

"Come on. You just got so vague it sounded like you didn't... Then... Why are you all unstable-ish? Come on," Linx repeated. If it actually came down to a fight, he'd probably end up breaking bones, and that wasn't something he wanted. What he wanted was to help Emeral out; she was obviously stressed.

"I don't know... life..." Emeral turned away from Linx, then shoved down the rest of her drink, got up, and started walking out of the Tavern. "I hope thats all, 'cuz I'm done talking."

Linx said nothing. He watched Emeral closely, as did most of the tavern's inhabitants; after all, he'd just been talking to her and now she was leaving. There was no safe way to respond to this action of hers, and he just took a sip of his drink and observed the skunk for a sign of hesitation. She clearly wanted a reaction and he didn't give it, which had provoke something.

Emeral took a step outside to see that it was storming. She sighed at the fact that she forgot her rain jacket, and had no choice but to ask a favor of the person she didn't even want to be by. She slowly walked back, then thought of what to say. After all, she hadn't had a good start with him.

Linx noted that Emeral was looking just slightly wet. Since he himself lacked a raincoat, it looked like he was unprepared for going back out. However, instead of noting this or even saying anything, he set his glass on the bar, went back to his original stool, reached beneath it and picked up a black, collapsible umbrella. "Need one of these?"

"Err...yes..." Emeral blushed. "If you can... spare one..." She walked briskly over to Linx at his old stol, looking down with a look of being ashamed. "Er... sorry for getting off on the wrong start... I just...stress..."

"It's fine. Look, I'm gonna get out of here anyway, we can share this one." Linx took a few gold coins out of his pocket– far too much for the drink he'd purchased before– and set them down on the counter as an oversized tip. He nodded to the grinning barkeep while gripping his umbrella by the handle and pointing to the door with it. "Let's go..."

"Err...thanks..." Emeral huddled close to Linx under the umbrella once they got outside. The rain had started to die down, but a steady downpour was still present. She was quite for a while, and would only speak if she was asked a question.

Linx did have a question, which he asked just before going to right in front of his house. "Where's your house? I'm... Assuming you want to go to your house..." The mouse looked over at Emeral curiously. They were a bit close together under the umbrella and the whole situation was a bit tense.

"It's down on the other side of the market. I'll run there, no need to give me the umbrella." She looked out past the market quietly, with a little fear in her eyes. Otterfort was a nice place at day, but by night, it seemed to turn almost evil. The real creeps started to pop out then.

"Are you sure? Don't you want to step in for a bit, just until the rain dies down, at least? You could catch a nasty cold out here... Even this late in the spring, yes." Linx gestured to his house with the paw not holding an umbrella in it. In doing so, he got his paw thoroughly wet as it extended beyond the radius of the umbrella's protective circle. "Up to you..."

Emeral sighed. "No...I have to...get home..." She quickly started making her way past Linx, completely ignoring a goodbye. She lied about a home, she slept in a hole in the wall of a cave by the beach. She had a job, and loved to cook at home, but her actual home did not exist. Emeral took one more glance back at Linx as a tear fell down her face, though completely hidden in the rain.
