**Azrah strode back into the barracks, it had been over a season since she was last here, she had traveled far and had news which she couldn't wait to tell all her friends, if they were still there.
She had seen what no-otter had ever seen before in the far south of the lands, and spoken to an otter nearby who had seen wonders beyond imagining across the great sea.
She had come back for one purpose, she had come back to get permission of one of the commanders to gather a crew of steady beasts and sale across the sea, it could be done, and she had the charts.**

Such a commander was right there in the lobby of the barracks, lounging on one of the room's two benches. Linx rose slowly from his reclined position, hefting his CHAR back into its usual position slung from his shoulder strap. The sight of Azrah after so much time elapsed with her gone was enough to get him back on his footpaws in a heartbeat; speaking of which, his heart rate skyrocketed in surprise as he confirmed what he was looking at. "Azrah... It's you."

**She gave him a brisk salute before sitting down on the bench and saying,** yes it's me, been away in the south. Gosh the fort has changed! This building didn't even exist when I was here last, about a year ago was it? How's the fort doing? It's still standing so that a good thing,** she finished with a grin.**

"The fort is... Fantastic," Linx shrugged. He hated salutes and tried not to comment when Azrah gave him one. It surprised him, though, when she sat down right where he'd been lounging a moment before. The building had existed back then, but it had been through so much remodeling that it looked new from a superficial scan. "You know... I could have you thrown in prison, or at least severely fined, for going absent without leave on us. Could you tell me why you were out, then?"

Permission from you? I told Finn that I was leaving but I'll tell you where I went,** she took in a long breath of air and said,** I have been on a great journey to the far south of these lands, I have seen plains of never ending sand I have spoken with strange lizard who told tales of lands beyond the sea and I have spoken with a local bird who sailed on a small boat for five months and saw these lands, and I have his charts.

OOC: Five months? The Mayflower took 66 days...
BIC: "Well, that, uh... That went well," Linx sighed. He didn't like beasts vanishing without his being notified. Sighing again and looking down at Azrah, the mouse reflected that his permission wasn't explicitly needed, but an officer's was in general, specifically her commanding officer. Who that was was beyond him. He didn't even control any troops, anyway. "So you're here now. Why did you return? You.. You get bored, or what?"

OOC: Columbus took almost a year.
BIC: Nah, I thought I could, with the permission of all officers of course, gather a crew, sail across the sea and establish a colony there, discover new foods, meet new animals and get supper rich in all,** Azrah declared confidently.**

OOC: Columbus wasn't going across parallel to the lines of latitude.
BIC: "Perhaps... I don't know if the fort is a good place to take that to, though. We have a compliment of four warships. Warships, Azrah. None of them are capable of a voyage the likes of which you're talking about right now. Plus, the whole... I dunno, you're kind of springing this on me..." Exploration had been ignored as a concept for quite some time. Linx, content with invention as he was, didn't like the idea of sending a ship away to whatever fate it would meet. "You'll have to inform me better than that."

OOC: No he wasn't but who knows where Azrah is going? BIC: Inform you?**She asked,** ask me what kind of information you want and I'll tell you. As for a ship, a couple of years ago I saved a merchant's, a ship salesman to be precise, life, he gave me a ship for that, well sold for half price.

"Ship salesman," Linx repeated with a chuckle. The kind of beast who needed a ship to be sold to them was beyond him. Based on that logic, it couldn't have been a very large vessel. He decided to ask, just to be on the safe side. It can't be that large anyway, or we won't be able to crew it. "Two questions. What kind of ship is it, and where is it now?"

It's a medium seize sail ship and it's moored at the otter fort docks, I traveled south on it,** Azrah replied.**

"A civilian ship," the mouse muttered. That would complicate matters a bit. A government-crewed civilian ship didn't work very well, mainly because that wasn't legal. "You'd have to... Donate it to the fort if you want the fort to crew it. And even then, I can't tell them to use it for exploration, let alone soon."

**Azrah stood up briskly and replied,** I wasn't asking your permission to let you organize crews for it, I was asking your permission to ask for VOLUNTEERS who would want to come on an exploration trip, if you don't want to give otter fort warriors a chance to sail across the seas then I'll look for commoner volunteers.

"You don't need my permission for that, if that's what you want then don't take it to me!" Azrah's desires were becoming less and less clear to Linx by the second. He didn't actually command any troops and found it irritating that she'd ask the Master of Weaponry about asking for volunteers. "Take it to someone who actually has authority over specific soldiers."

What you don't?**She was very surprised about that, she though he was a commander of soldiers, mind you he had just been made a commander when she left, so how would she know?**
