I want to get a sense of people's preferences. I am still not sure what I will do with the results of this poll in terms of changing the site, but I want to know which you prefer. This is important so there is no in between choice. Do you prefer roleplaying with swords, bows, slings, etc or do you prefer roleplaying with guns? Please state your reasons below if you wish.

Roleplaying with swords, Guns aren't bad, but if that's all you use then it's not as in depth and doesn't require as much creativity.

I prefer archaic weaponry myself. I wouldn't mind guns so long as they were nerfed to be comprable to bows, crossbows, slings, etc.
So while they would hit much harder and fire faster, perhaps they could have a propensity to jamming, be difficult to use, expensive, expensive ammo etc.
It's not really fair to people who prefer traditional weapons to make guns waaaay better.

Sure, Raiden came up with a short-ranged rapid-fire weapon (With Linx's help), but he'll forever be a swordsmouse at heart... No matter how much others try to tell him otherwise, he's lived by the sword, and he'll die by it. No guns, just a sword... Or two... Or more...

Hah, yah, Fishrudder and Aral have used them, I think Aral even assassinated somebody with a gun, but it's so much more fun to have to take an enemy out one at a time then to just cut through them like paper

I think I have already expressed my opinion on this subject but I definently think that guns are a no no.

For once, since I've had an outlet to express my gun-ness outside this site? Change of heart.

Well, let me put it this way, OK? The point of putting guns in OF was to try and encourage a new audience to join the member influx by putting a unique spin on the fort and basically get a whole new set of members who were interested in such advances. However, the ad campaign that was supposed to go along with that completely failed and, when it was all said and done, we still had the conservative member group populating the site. That means there's no point in having them now.

So it looks like swords win. I guess this means we have to uninvent the guns? What if we have one of the guns explode dramatically and people get so scared that they decide guns aren't worth using anymore? Then we don't have to pretend that the guns never existed.

That still doesn't work. If we completely revert to medieval technology, all of the advancements, including repeater tech, have to be erased. By this point, the repeater has become so widespread and reliable that there's no actually ceasing its use, and since it doesn't operate on gunpowder it can't go out with that kind of stigma.

Just stop roleplay them, it's not that hard, lol, act like they never existed

That in itself, of course, will necessitate major change throughout the site. The money that repeaters generated, for example, won't be there and things will be in a much inferior condition all around. The fort will be far less well-funded, its trade will be notably scaled down and overall there will be less outside activity. It had a rather pivotal role so it's difficult to just act like they weren't there.

Not really, the fort's trade wasn't that roleplayed, not hard to do, look at it from a simple point, your looking at it like it's some sophisicated game...
