A bare segment in the fort has recently undergone renovations.
The owner, a snow white ermine has furnished the place so that it looks vastly different. Tables are set up on one side of the store, with the merchandise being on top. This is where the scrolls are kept.
Over near the middle-back of the store is where the exotic items are kept. They have been gathered by the owner in his travels and are (sometimes) unique.
The stock is unusual in a special way. Not only are the scrolls for profit, but a select number of scrolls are lent out for a predetermined space of time.
If you ask the Owner of the Shop, one Lentle Dirge what is the exact contents of the shop he will gladly tell you. There is an account of the inventory near the front of the store available for public viewing too.
The inventory at last count was such:
Scrolls(Library):
- The Sublime Index of Species and their behaviours
- The General Listing of Maps for Mossflower County and beyond
- The Regional Dictionary for Dialects in Mossflower County(available in dialects for every species)
- The History of Mossflower, a canon account (Available in a series of volumes)
- The General Listing of all known species in our lands
Scrolls (For sale)
- Swords in Our Days: The Classical Techniques, Volume 1.
- Redwall Abbey:Inside the Enigma
- Monsters of the Past, From the Slothonaug to the Deepcoiler:Real or Fiction?
- A Treatise on Traditional 'Vermin'/'Woodlander relations
- Beasts of Great Note:An Account Of the Life and Death of Urthstripe the Mighty (One of a series)
- Beyond Mossflower, the Argument for Overseas Expansion, as Written by a Commander
Exotic Items
- A Metal Quarterstaff. This item was forged by the very hand of the Shopkeeper himself. It is recomended that the quarterstaff be hammered out after any major fight to prevent bendage. It is garunteed that this is the only one in the world like itself.
- The Ancient Scroll Of the Mariner. This is an ancient map thought to have been lost for seasons beyond number. According to the rumor, this map can lead to blinding heights of power. The Shopkeeper swears that he has not yet opened the seal, nor read its contents.
- A strange device called an Atlatl. This is a shaft of wood, with a spur attached to one side. In other modifications, the spsur can be merely added to the shaft instead of being grooved. The shop carries both versions. This device can throw a spear further and more accuratley than a regular spearman(unaided).
Proper form involves holding it from the end opposite the spur. The projectile is then place into the spur or cup and secured. Then when the wrist and upper arm combine to complete the throw, the spear is thrown further as well.
Pictured here is a form of Atlatl with the spur integrated into the weapon itself
(done for now, may integrate more items later)
