OOC: Sorry it took me so long to post...
BIC: "So have you been here long?"
Tyson shrugged. "Kinda depends on your definition of long. Compared to most of others here, I haven't been here long at all. I came about a season or so ago. Many have been here their entire lives while other have been here since they where just kids." Tyson shrugged his shoulders again, unsure of what else to ad.

Streamer took a few seconds to realised that she had received an answer, "Oh. Sorry I musta began day dreaming again. Silly me. Anyways I consider a season or two long, longer than how long I've been here atleast." the ottermaid answered feeling a bit silly for answering with a delay. "Hey um, I haven't got to see the entire place yet, would you mind showing me around a bit?" The young maid asked hoping Tyson would say yes.

"Sure. There's plenty more to see than just the walls," he said jokingly. A great place to visit would be the Tavern. They got great drinks and food. and the captains barracks are intersting to because somtimes you can see maps and graphs of past battles tacked up on the walls. And the pond..." He trailed off realizing he had started rambling. "Well I just show you adn you can see for yourself."

The ottermaid giggled at Tyson's first phrase, "I see that," Streamer said taking her paw off the wall again as she listened to the places her new companion was listing, "Those places sound interesting, lets go." The young maid had seen parts of the fort before but never knew what each place was for, now she had a tour guide which made her very happy.

Tyson grinned and dropped to all four paws. he found it eiser to run this way. He took off slowly at first allowing streamer to keep up easily but slowly sped up and headed for the pond. The weather was cold, but in his opinion it was never to cold to get your paws wet. Or your whole body.

Streamer first began chasing after Tyson on two footpaws but foudn it quite tiring. She mimicked her friend and began running after him worried that she might lose sight of him. The young ottermaid wondered where they were going, she thought of many different possibilities so then she decided that she would just wait and see.

Tyson glanced back over his shoulder everynow and then to check that Streamer was keeping up. He saw the reflective water of the pond nearing and slowed his pace. The shore around the pond was sandy in some places and muddy in others. He stuck to the sandy parts, knowing that if he broke through the thin layer of ice that lay over the mud, it would stick to his paws and most likely freeze there. He stopped just inches from the frigid looking water and tentitvaly placed a paw in. A shiver ran up his arm but it was a good kind of shiver. Although sea otters coats where thicker, river otters had thick coats too, so tyson unbuckled his belt and weapons and laid them on the sand out of reach of the water. Then he waded in slowly.

Streamer carefully stared at what Tyson was doing and quickly followed him towards the pond and watched him wade in, she did the same also wading a bit faster so that she could be next to him. "Oooh kind of cold." The young ottermaid commented as she felt the water reach her stomach.

"Aye, but it beats everything in the summer. Except the sea itself of course. This is where we get the majority of fish, and water plants that we eat. It also serves as out water source during sieges, so it's pretty valuable." Tyson waded in a few more steps and then, taking a deep breath, plunged his head beneath the water. His eyes instantly adjusted to limited light and he could make out the shadowy shapes of fish on the far side of the pond.

Streamer stared at Tyson disappear underwater so she followed his lead pluning the rest of her body beneath the pond. She opened her eyes and let it adjust to the dimness below water and stared at her companion. The young ottermaid felt invigorated being in the cold water and chased a fish that swam by her but quickly gave up swimming back to Tyson.

A grin broke out on Tyson's face as he watched Streamer chase the fish. Bubbles burst from his mouth and he was forced back to the surface to regain air. The freezing water was already begining to numb his limbs. He shambled out slowly and shook himself dry. "Ha! Best place to warm up would be the tavern! Follow me." His limbs still cold he moved at a half jog toward the tavern.

Streamer followed Tyson out of the water and began following him towards the Tavern wondering whay kind of things there. She had not been there since her arrival the previous day and felt kind of hungry.

OOC: We can if you want to, but we don't really have to.
BIC: Tyson loped along a little faster once he saw that Streamer was following and the numbness left his legs. His fur was growing warmer now, but it was still cold. The fireplace in the Tavern would feel good as it banished the wet from his fur.

Streamer kept up with Tyson following him to the taverns. She had not expected such a warm welcome then again the young maid had not met any other beasts around the fort. The young ottermaid soon began panting for breath, she was not well used to running since her brother and herself had not traveled great distances quickly, just long walks. Streamer did not want to slow down her friend so she didn't say anything.

The tavern loomed up out of the thickening fog, a large building with the sounds of laughter and music coming from inside. Tyson rose to two feet and tugged at the doorhandle of the large door that would admit them into warm atmosphere. He glanced back once more to make sure Streamer was close behind him. The door came open with only a slight creak of the hinges, and the warmth of the fire within came out and illuminated the semi darkness.
