Streamer trailed her paw gently against the wall of Otter's Fort strolling slowly as she walked the perimeter of it. The young ottermaid was very glad that her brother and herself found the place or they would have been stuck roaming the land always fighting for dear survival, not just against vermin but against food shortages and weather. Even though Streamer did not do much around the village the ottermaid hoped to become a healer of some sort or maybe help farm the land but definately not a warrior. She had seen her brother fight a few times and she strongly disapproves of it.

A young otter, only a few seasons older than Streamer wandered the large grounds of otter fort. His steps brought him within shouting distance of the new resident but shouting was about the last thing on his mind.
Tyson flipped one of his dirk and caught it shakily. He had been practicing throwing and fighting with his twin dirks for several hours now, with his mentor Terg. Now his muscles ached and his paws had fresh cuts on them, none deep but all stinging. He licked his lips as he attempted to concentrate on the spinning arc of silver above his paw. Again another catch.
Tyson sighed and released his gaze from the blade and wearily scanned the surrounding grounds. His eyes fell on Streamer running her paws along the worn stone of the wall. Tyson rembered how much he had done that very thing, escpecially when he had first come to the fort. Come to think of it this otter looked unfamiliar. Tyson's mentor Terg always tried to make himself familiar to everyone in the fort, escepcially new comers. This meant that Tyson usually met the new comer soon after their arrival. He had yet to meet this one though. With slow purposful steps he made his way toward the otter maid, who appeard to be lost in thought.

Streamer stared happily at the worn walls, she just walked along side as if in a trance. The young ottermaid would of continued walking when she noticed someone walking towards her in the corner of her dark brown eyes. The maid did not notice the other otter walking towards her deep in thought of what to do become useful in the fort. Streamer was also mesmorized by the old and worn stone walls of the fort. The ottermaid walked on oblivious to Tyson getting closer to her and probably she would end up walking into him.

Tyson continued his path toward the otter maid. He didn't alter his course assuming that Streamer would see him and stop. Her gaze was fixed on the walls though and since she was distracted and Tyson was under the false assumption that she she was aware of him they both collided. It wasn't a full head on collision since neither was going very fast but they did bump into each other. Tyson blushed deeply under his fur feeling very foolish. He had just run into a new comer with in full awareness.
"Sorry, ma'm. Pardon me... my fault."

The young ottermaid flushed slightly at having been caught doing something so silly and pointless, also she had walked into somebeast. "No its my fault, I am terribely sorry. I wasn't looking and..." Streamer stammered out feeling quite stupid for doing something. The ottermaid just hoped that he wouldn't tease her about her little walk too much.

Tyson rubbed the back of his neck, as he oftn did when anxious. "No really, it was my fault. Nevermind. I'm Tyson. Are you new around here?" Tyson suddenly realized this was probably a very dumb thing to say. If she wasn't new the emmbaresment he would go through would be great, to say the least. "What I mean is... um...."

Streamer nodded, "Hy Tyson, I'm Streamer, Streamer Brookepaw. Anyways I am kind of new here because me and my brother got her only a few days ago and I haven't got the chance to explore this place in daylight so, Im doing it now." The ottermaid admitted sheepishly. She began to wonder if she had made a new friend so easily and quickly.

Tyson almost sighed with relief when he found out the Streamer actually was new to the fort. If she hadn't been... well things would get awkward. "Nice to meet'cha. I haven't been here real long, I mostly came to train with the warriors here. They're very good at what they do, and good at teaching me how to do it." Tyson loved talking about the warriors Otter Fort and didn't realize that Streamer was so against fighting. Not everyone saw it as the solution.
"What about you and your brother? Why did you come?" Said Tyson trying to make friendly conversation. He took a step in the direction Streamer had been walking intending to let her continue exploring. He hoped she didn't mind his company.

Streamer smiled as she continued her walk with a new companion, "My brother found here by luck. We've been traveling for a couple seasons, you see we got seperated from our parents during a storm out at sea," The young otter said trailing her paw against the walls again, "My brother is also here training since he learned how to fight as we travel. I'm really against it but without him I would have been killed off by vermin and never found this place."

Tyson nodded as Streamer spoke. "Musta been hard. Personally I came here from Green Isle. I've never really had a hard life, I've always had everything provided for me, or withing easy reach. It's nothing to be ashamed of, I suppose, but sometimes I wish I hadn't had such a cushy life."

"It wasn't that hard, I got through it. Anyways where is Green Isle? I have never heard of such a place." Streamer replied slowing down her pace just a slight bit to make the duration of her walk a bit longer. The young ottermaid wondered where Green Isle was, could it be out in the sea or farther inalnd? She was very excited to hear the answer to her question.

Tyson shrugged. "It's an island about a days sail from here. A maid from Redwall abbey used to lead the otters there. It used to be controlled by wildcats who took over the place and enslaved the otters, but the Redwall maid, Tiria, came and led them and an army of hares in a battle against the cats. She defeated them and all the slaves moved to a place called Holt Summerdell. That's where I came from. Since they beat the wildcats though there's been no one brave enough to attack the otters again. It got quite boring, sitting around and stuffing ourselves until we sank in the pond. We had some training but not much, and it was small in comparison to what I've learned here."

Streamer listened intently suprised at such a place. "That's sounds like a nice place to visit. No need for violence, and enough for everyone to eat. Sounds much nice than rarely having to eat enough to keep a fur and body together and always having to fight each other." The young ottermaid stated feeling a bit odd at having completely disagreed with Tyson. She hoped she wouldn't get offended by this.

"Yeah it was nice, got so bored. That pobably sounds pretty horrible considering howmuch some would give to live in a place like Green Isle. But I really needed to get out." Tyson shrugged his shoulders, feeling guilty for what he had said.
OOC: Sorry 'bout the shortnes...

"So have you been here long?" Streamer asked, she felt very curious to know her new companion better. She had not had a conversation with anybeast when she had arrived in Otter Fort, she just kept to herself wondering who to trust. The ottermaid kept her paw trailing against the worn walls of the fort. She stared at the walls again looking quite distracted as she wondered who are what built the place. Streamer didn't even realise that she asked a question, she was just too mesmerized by the walls, again.
