Name- Mokwa
Species- Monitor Lizard
Gender- Male
Rank- Villager
Description- As monitor lizards go, Mokwa is rather slight. He has very little fat on him but very little muscle too, possessing a very bony exterior. His scales are rather dull, lacking in much luster and doing anything but complimenting his thin frame. Mokwa is slightly shorter than the average monitor lizard and is often forced to look up at beasts to make eye contact. He is not completely finished growing and may eventually get a bit taller but for the moment he isn't.
Mokwa's true nature is simply an outgoing, carefree social butterfly, but when applied to the world this gets turned into a reserved, quiet, extremely shy beast. He is frighteningly used to stigma resulting from his species and this has a major effect on how asocial he can be. When allowed to be, though, he can be a very kind influence, but tends to think a lot about himself, putting his own interests above those ofothers by habit.
Bio: Mokwa always wanted to go live at Otter's Fort. This was mainly because his family, living in a village by the southern coast, had forbidden him from going there, telling him all about the antagonism he could face. To Mokwa, though, this was taken lightly, like an adventure of sorts, and even at a young age he disregarded his parents' warnings, frequently fantasizing about boldly heading off into this unknown, vaguely hostile fortress. By the time he got to age fourteen, though, he was able to get some serious information about Otter's Fort and what he saw was appealing. Diverse population, safe environment, what did it matter if he was a monitor lizard?
Apparently, it mattered a lot. He had been able to convince his mother, Ostea, that Otter's Fort would be a good choice for him. That very winter, she and his father, Cabel, went out for a six-hour walk around Mossflower to have a "talk alone," as Cabel put it. He returned alone, saying that Ostea had been separated from him early on and he had spent all that time futilely searching. And Mokwa trusted this...
One year later to the day, he had given Ostea up for dead. And he still wanted to go to Otter's Fort. Living a life as a craftsbeast like his father wasn't something he wanted to do eternally. This he related to his father, and, to his complete surprise, he was greeted with the blade of a knife. A lucky grab and Cabel was impaled by his own weapon, dying nearly instantly.
Mokwa just ran. He didn't exactly know where to or why but he bolted out the door and didn't stop running until his legs failed him due to the cold and he was left sprawled by the estuary. After a while, he realized where he was... The estuary of the River Moss. Otter's Fort was close.
