OOC: It fits fine here.
BIC: Archon caught it and held it up to his face to examine it more closely. What he saw was a mere confirmation of his first glance. "OK, let's hold onto this... I know I have one firstpaw experience of seeing this symbol before, but that's not enough. We'll be taking this back to the fort and checking our records for any mention of a symbol like this. In the meantime, keep looking, this may be only a part of what's to find here." Upon closer examination, the dagger was completely clean. No blood, no marks from clashing with another blade, nothing. Again, it was only a confirmation of what the mouse already knew. They wanted to be known.
"This symbol," Archon elaborated while looking up at Thaddeus, "is that of an army, unknown name..."

Thaddeus walked off to interview some of the creatures in the town, to see what they could recall from the bandit raids.

Joy, how do you know about it **THe otter's eyes darkened, he was never one for conflict. In fact, he wasn't much of a warrior, he was just thrust into the position**

"Not much," Archon admitted. "At least, not much personally. I'm hoping that the fort records will hold better luck than my own memory; I've only seen it once! It's too disconnected an incident to get anything, and... Why did they send a patrol without relief supplies? The higher-ups can be so stupid sometimes." At least he couldn't blame the Master of Weaponry for making a bad choice. That guy didn't have anything to do with arranging patrols.

OOC: Dumb Fishy, that's his job... We head back to the fort, get reinforcements, and then fight IC: Ok, then, let's go. Have one stay behind with Thaddeus while we get reinforcements

OOC: Fight the appropriately well-timed return attack on the village? Right.
BIC: "Why do we all need to go?" Archon gave Sinthin a disdainful look. "Send one beast. The fastest in the squad, please. There's no way I'm just gonna desert this place and let the vermin come back while we're away. Now that we're here, we're staying until the problem's fixed. One beast."

Thaddeus waited for Archon's reply.

"I wouldn't know," Archon replied blankly. "This is a new patrol to me, I don't even know its members that well... Who likes to run?" Excepting himself, of course... Archon actually considered himself a decent runner but he wasn't even dressed to do that.

"I'm built for power, not speed," Thaddeus relented, "We need someone fast for this task, sir."

OOC: I'm not sure if you used 'relented' correctly there...
BIC: "Who's sir? Does anyone know a sir here?" Archon paused pointedly for a few seconds before continuing. "Well, that rules you out, my dear strength trainer... I'm considering going myself, but I don't want to leave you guys headless. ...Ah, whatever, I'll go myself." He'd assign command to someone else just before leaving. There was no need for heads to swell already.

OOC: You guys wait in the village, possibly skip time until my return. By the by, next time you have something OOC only to say, do it by PM. Otherwise, it's spam. This is just a warning.
BIC: With that, Archon turned and ran. The journey back to the fort couldn't have been more than six hours, easy enough for a beast like him. Besides, the others could handle themselves, what with the mobile palisade and all.

Sinthin glanced around, the rest of the patrol (NPCs and you) were newer then he was. He said to the group "I guess as eldest of the group I'll lead until Archon gets back, Thaddeus, can you take someone else and patrol the perimeter?"
