"Don't get nostalgic on me," Linx warned. "Makes me feel like you're gonna try and pinch this thing. Which, by the way, is a total joke." He wasn't sure what would be more appropriate to gaze at, the ocean surrounding the ship or Auric. Both were equally fascinating to him.

After they are well-beaten, she adds three dove eggs from a basket and mixes them again. Finally, she pours the thick dough into six bread pans to rise.*

*Finnerator resumes the wheel with a grin. She was glad to have the dibbun out of her fur. Babysitting wasn't the otter's forte to say the least, but now Clearbrook would make herself useful in the kitchens. At Terg's request she nods enthusiastically* By all means Terg, I always love a good sea chantey.
*As she tapped her foot along to the tune and hummed softly. Finnerator surveyed the crew and saw that some were still awaiting orders, though she couldn't think of much for everyone to do* Any volunteers for lookout down there? *She called down to the rest of the beasts assembled on deck* I need somebeast to keep watch for other ships. The rest of you, inspect the rigging and make sure everything's secure. It's been awhile since the Stormy Otter set sail. *She said with a smile. There had been a brief inspection before setting sail, but one could never be too careful. After giving the orders, she concentrated on steering the ship*

*Clearbrook, after listening to Terg's seasong, goes back to the galley. She puts the bread over the fire and begins to boil some water for soup. She rummages around in a cabinet, producing some hotroot and a net of dried freshwater shrimp. Clearbrook chops up two ripe leeks and readies everything for the soup.*

Ho a buccuneers life is A terrible life For a big and bold bucko like me It bears much more strife than a normal life 'cause on a ship you never have tea Ho a buccaneers life is a terrible life The cap'n is hard and cruel! He drives all day and feed us on hay And gives all our clothes to his mule! Ho a buccaneers life is a terrible life The food ain't fit for a bug! It's gross and it's awwful, worse than a burnt waffle And our paws are our only mug! Ho a buccaneers life is a terrible life When out on the storm I must be! Furlin' the sails and puttin' out pails To catch water to bath off the flea! Ho a buccaneers life is a terrible life At the crack o dawn I wake! "This bed is as hard as a stone" I moan "And this pillow as comfortable as a rake!" *Terg finishes and smiles at Aruic*. Sorry matey. I just made that up. I don't know what a real buccaneers life is like.

Linx approached as the song finished. It seemed so overtly negative that he could classify it as propaganda without difficulty. "Well, he does... So, now that I'm so convinced that I shouldn't be one..." The mouse chuckled dryly. "Not like I was about to be anyway. At least it rhymed."
"Hey." Archon appeared at Linx's side. "Do we really have so little to do that we're critiquing improvised songs?" It wasn't that he had nothing to say about it, but the idea of having no pending orders at any given moment was foreign to him, especially considering how much time he had spent working as of late.

OOC: Try and stick to at least the minimum number of sentences per post in this thread.
BIC: Archon took the initiative to answer. "Is that an actual question, or are you just being polite?" He grinned and glanced sideways at Linx. "We're pretty good, nice to be out here for a change. At least I'm not doing custom orders right now." It was a lucky break for him to get out of the shop. It did mean that Linx couldn't do more development, either, and they might have a hefty backlog upon return, but he had a while to spend time doing something interesting.

OOC: What did I just say?
BIC: "...You didn't forget to pack some food. Of course, that scone is gonna have to last how many weeks?" Linx was speaking this time. He looked off the bow of the ship. "Looks like we're going north up the shore. Not sure what from there, actually." After observing the shore for a moment, he turned to Archon. "I dunno why we're not doing anything, I guess there's nothing to do?"
Archon smirked at this comment. "This is the part where we go all public-display, heh..."
