Ronin gave a satisfied nod as Lore grabbed a scrubbing implement.
"Mess hall table or cupboards would be a goodly place ta start."
The shrew was finally nearing the bottom of his stacks of dishes. They looked quite pretty, sitting out on the counters as they dried on top of towels. The stove tops and ovens were also visible now, having previously been stacked with dirty dishes. He took a rag to the stove tops until all the blackened food and grunge was off. He opened one of the stoves and sniffed inside it. Actually, the inside wasn't as horrible as he had been expecting it to be. Apparently the kitchen's ovens weren't used all that much. A clump in the back caught his eye and he reached back, pulling out four pears. He didn't know what kind of beast would stash away pears, but the fruit was in excellent condition. Using a clean cutting board, knife and pan, he soon had them chopped up and simmering slowly on a back burner. He may boss other creatures around without a hint of apology, but he'd have some nice pear compote to feed the onces who came to help once the kitchen was clean.
Now the cupboards. Knowing he wasn't tall enough to reach the upper cupboards, the shrew turned over a bucket and stood on it. His paw tugged at a cupboard's handle. It didn't open. Grumbling, he wrapped his paw around it more firmly and gave a heave.
"If'n you don' open, I'm goin' to be taking an axe to ye!"
The threat seemed to work and the door popped open, spewing out some dust and cobwebs. Ronin sneezed. Even on thee bucket he could only see the bottom two shelves. The top one was still out of his sight range. He heaved a bucket of soapy water onto the counter top then hopped up onto it himself and began attacking the inside of the cupboard. The dishes inside it were few and far between seeing as most of them had just been left out on the counter after being used. All the dishes he did find were chipped or cracked. He chucked them down into another bucket resting on the floor with gusto, giving a satisfied hrumph as each dish shattered into the container.
