Archon didn't take much time in loading it. He walked over to the table at the target range, grabbed a full magazine for it from one of its several drawers and slapped it into the well with his foregrip paw before moving it back and deftly cocking the weapon. "Watch closely... My aim may be a little off, I'm not in the best of condition, but let's see what I can do..." He braced the stock of the repeater against his shoulder, lined up the sights and took a first shot. It didn't make any noise leaving the barrel, but upon the aluminum bolt slamming into the wooden target a few inches to the right of Casmir's arrow, it made a plainly audible smash.
In order to chamber the next bolt, all Archon had to do was cock it again, and that he did, firing again and again until the magazine was fully depleted of its ten bolts, which took less than that many seconds. The shots were accurate enough, all staying within the bullseye although not all of them were excessively close to the epicenter. When he was done, Archon slowly lowered the weapon, then removed the magazine and set it down on the table. "This thing makes a killer bludgeon, too."

Casmir was impressed by the sheer power of the weapon. Its speed was something to be revered as well. "It is a most formidable machine, i must say. But still, i can not see myself ever using it. I appreciate its use, but to be frank, it scares me a little. It marks a time when battle will evolve to something more. When weapons become the prime advancement then there will sure enough be one that will end all wars, and perhaps all harmony." Casmir's disdain for such things was evident, but he hoped that it would not put off Archon. He wished so very much to be welcomed into this place, but his strong opinions were still his opinions, and to lie would be much worse than to offend.

"End wars? No way. This is a temporary edge. If there was a war devastating enough to cause peace it would only be temporary. Free will dictates evil, not weapons." Archon's views on the nature of war and sentience were intrinsically extremely close to those of Linx's. "Sooner or later, every soldier will have one of these. Then inventors will have to build off the past and make something that's restricted to present beasts' imaginations." He set the repeater down, leaning it against the table's side.
OOC: Now, here's an interesting tidbit. The initial rounds for the CAR were made months ago, when things were still warm. Now that it's cold, any initial stockpiles, if used, won't work since the air inside them will have cooled, contracted and reduced internal pressure. This may result in the discovery of air's reaction to heat and a lack thereof (expanding, contracting), which could go in a number of directions.

Casmir furrowed his brow. "Let us hope that such technology and knowledge of its intricate workings do not fall into the wrong hands." Casmir looked about the room, once again. Admiring the workmanship of Linx. "His work is quite impressive, to say the least," he finally said.

"Some beasts out there are making similar weapons for the wrong side. A while back we were ambushed by a crossbow-wielding beast from nearly a quarter mile away. We were helpless to him... I have no idea how he could aim from that far but it was using technology I don't know about." Archon flashed back to taking a barbed steel bolt to the shoulder. It had punched through his armor as if it weren't even there. "This stuff doesn't guarantee victory, it keeps us on par with the latest."

"Sometimes i think perhaps i should have stayed in the rive bend. But if i had i fear i would never find what it is i search for." Casmir paused, and thought perhaps he had said too much. No need to confuse this beast with the toils of his mind. "But it is too late for that. Now i am here, and i can never return. Such is the way of my tribe. Once an outcast, always an outcast. I made my decision, now i must live with it."

"So... What do you want to do now?" Archon figured he'd leave the topic open. He had the feeling it might go back to his wounds, their extent and how they were inflicted but it was so touchy a subject he loathed the idea of talking about it despite its impact on him. The whole thing was so... Degrading. And, as it did now, it surfaced at every mental opportunity.

Casmir looked at Archon. He looked him up and down. Sized him up. "I think i will leave. I may have been a bit quick to wish to meet the fort members. I need a while to sit with my thoughts." Casmir shook the paw of Archon, and said "Thank you for your hospitality. It will not quickly be forgotten." With this he turned to leave the shop, and looked back once more on Archon. He smiled, faintly, then made his way to the outside. The crowds were thinning, and Casmir made his way through the market, and searched for a quiet place in which to sit and think.

Archon almost decided to try and follow, but then chose against it. He'd try and meet up with Linx first... This was one odd beast indeed. Obviously a lot behind him, and little of it available to talk about. Now to find Linx.
OOC: Remember that you can be in as many threads as you want at once... I haven't seen you in more than one at the same time.
