Casmir and Linx's conversation had left him feeling very outgoing. He wanted to go and meet more of the members of this fort. He had noticed the market when he first entered, and saw that it was alive with commotion. He made his way over, and caroused the many products available. He disappeared within the numbers, and suddenly felt overwhelmed. He had never been in so large a crowd, and every one of them strangers. He pulled his cloak tight around him and walked slowly. What seemed like hundreds of beasts pushed by him. I must introduce myself, or i will never meet anyone he thought. He stopped next to a hedgehog, and said, very quietly, "Hello, i am Casmir." but the hedgehog, paid him no mind, and shouted across the market to some friend of his, unseen by Casmir. A heavy sigh escaped him, and he receded into a shady corner.

OOC: I've actually never seen a thread here solely for RPing as opposed to events taking place within a shop. Interesting... Keep in mind that the marketplace is in actuality a complex of commercial buildings as opposed to a market square with booths.
BIC: Linx had left Casmir to his own business but Archon hadn't taken part in that conversation. Having physically recovered somewhat from being captured by vermin a few weeks before, he had set out towards his co-owned store, Exotic Weaponry, to see how things were and maybe try and help out. However, on the way over he noticed someone... Staying far out of the crowd. Not one beast in Archon's entire experience at Otter's Fort had ever done that, so it was with a curious air that he left the familiar restrictions of the crowd and approached. "Who are you?"

OOC: I like to shake things up. Commercial buildings you say? There are alot of things about this site that are much different from what i would expect from a redwall site, like C.A.R guns and commercial buildings. I have a very set view of how things should be,at least in my mind, and how they actually are is quite a surprise. BIC: Casmir looked up from his hood which he had covered his face with. A mouse stood before him. The mouse's warm brown eyes met Casmir's own striking blues and Casmir shuddered a little, though he could not explain why. "I am Casmir," he said, almost at a whisper. He felt remarkably uncomfortable. He then added, "And i am slowly learning that i don't like crowds."

OOC: This is far from a typical Redwall site. Pneumatic firearms, albeit not mass-produced, and buildings devoted to sale and production are some of the traits that distinguish this from others.
BIC: "Never been around any? Can't say I haven't been in any before coming here... I'll use that one to infer you're new around here. Nice to meet you, Casmir, I'm Archon." He strode forward and extended a paw with the same casual and warm air as before, wincing a bit as he flexed his arm, which had sustained severe chemical burns during his capture. Even at first glance, this was one curious creature he was talking to, apparently not the most social beast around, considering his halting speech and apprehensive body language.

Casmir took the mouse's paw in his. Archon? he thought. "So you are Archon. I have met your...your...Linx. We talked for some time." He reached into his pocket and felt the chrysanthemum. "Oh, and yes, i am new here. Today is my first day in this new place. I came to this market in order to introduce myself to the members of this fort, but as you can see, it did not go so well." Casmir loosened his cloak, and stepped out from his hideaway. "Have you lived here long?"

This Casmir was certainly very withdrawn, at least on the surface. Standing aside from the crowd, wearing this cloak in the middle of a sunny day, speaking like a book, not even that, really. He seemed to always speak with no contractions.
"Not a season, which is substantial compared to some, negligible compared to others. Doesn't mean I don't know how this place works, though..." Archon mentally rewound the conversation a bit. "You met Linx, then? Sounds good... Also sounds like you're not that uninformed about us, eh?"

Casmir squinted at Archon. "Yes, i know of your relationship. It is not unnatural for two to love each other. If it were, then life would not be worth living. I notice your scars. They seem fresh." Casmir looked around the market, at the crowd, and a spark of nerves shot from within his gut. "Is there somewhere we can go that is not so...crowded?"

OOC: Actually, you'd be surprised how much conservative resistance I've encountered. Then again, maybe not.
BIC: "Certainly." Archon had a quiet, secure location in mind immediately– The shop. At least the back room, where the potential customers weren't. "Just follow me for a second, I'll take this conversation somewhere quieter, and then I can tell you all about these scars." There were only a few visible scars, mainly on his wrists and neck, the rest concealed by his long-sleeved clothing. He still had the bandages on for those ones, meaning his back, which had been whipped to the point of the skin being nearly gone, and his flanks and hips, which had sustained numerous claw wounds.

OOC: I know how the world can be. But i assure you Casmir and I are very accepting. BIC: Archon and Casmir stepped into the shop, and from there into the back room. Casmir took a seat. OOC: Having no idea what the shop looks like and not wanting to portray your characters actions for you, i'll let you start it, then i'll play off of that.

OOC: Right... For a general overview, the back room is a combination storage area and target range, where weapons and ammunition are held and tested.
BIC: There were just two chairs, which would usually be at an austere pine study desk at the side of the room. Due to spatial constraints in the barracks, Linx had put all work-related items ,save his personal armory, in the shop. Archon took the only free one and turned it to face Casmir before sitting in it, the desk at their side. "So... If you want to take a minute to gawk at all the stuff laying around here, go ahead, I'm not going anywhere." There was a CAR on top of a table some distance from a target across the long, narrow room, and numerous wooden crates full of weapons in rows along the edges of the room. Some of the weapons were on a myriad of wall-mounted racks, as was the case with the front room. "Linx has had quite a lot of time to stockpile. There's practically more weapons than the entire fort can simultaneously use."

Casmir looked around at the weapons and was slightly in awe of such craftmanship. "Linx made everyone of these? It seems a feat too large for a single mouse." Casmir looked again at Archon. "Your scars...was there a battle? You must have fought well." Casmir admired such bravery in anyone. Casmir then noticed the target range. It had been a while since he tested his skill at archery. "Do you mind if i practice my bow a bit?"

"We have three topics running here. I'll address each individually, I suppose... Linx, he's an inventor, and so creative it's made him an officer of sorts. Second, these scars weren't from battle, I got ambushed and captured. Then I got the scars. Third, go ahead, but those are obsolete around here." He hated it when he had to address more than one topic at once. It was just too hard to concentrate enough to say what he wanted to say.

"I am sorry. I must still be excited from the crowds. My mind runs very fast." Casmir ignored the comment of his arrows being obsolete. He still did not believe in these weapons created by Linx. He pulled out his bow, and notched an arrow. "Ambushed? By vermin?" He pulled back his string, and let the arrow fly. It hit the target dead center. "Were you frightened?" he said, as he looked back on the mouse.

"I didn't have time to be. I operated on reflexes until I got a nice old club to the head and next thing I know I'm bound between a pair of trees." Archon stood up and walked across the room to where one of the newer-looking crates was. It was labeled "BR" in stenciled bright blue paint on the lid, which the mouse swung open to reveal dozens of neatly stacked bolt repeaters. "I don't want to cost a lot of money so I'll give a demonstration with this instead of the CAR... I don't want to leave that comment about bows being outdated hanging, either, thus my actions." He picked up one of the weapons by its aluminum foregrip and hefted it in his paw. "I'll just grab a magazine and show you what I mean."
OOC: The bolt repeater is pump-action. I posted a thread a while back on it in OOC detailing its internal workings.

Casmir watched closely as Archon loaded the "machine". "Let us see your weapon in action. Perhaps i will appreciate its uses," he said, though he secretly doubted this statement. His mind was set in old ways, so there seemed something wrong with these new devices. Something off.
