Casmir had arrived into this, his new home, only recently. He had seen the training grounds, and considered making friends, but then he saw the garden. Beautiful flowers he thought to himself. He sat upon the ground and took a deep breath of the cool air and sweet perfumes of the garden. "Perhaps i will find what i search for here." he said aloud, and laid back in the sun, drifting off into daydreams.

"...A good greeting?" Linx had been a bit zoned-out, intently examining some beautiful asters near the side of the garden, when he heard someone's voice smash his reverie. The beast that it belonged to, he hadn't seen before.

Casmir opened his eyes and saw that he had company. "Oh, hello. I did not see you there," he said, and stood up to greet his new acquaintance. "I am called Casmir. This garden is quite beautiful. Do you call this place home?" he said, extending a paw.

"I'm Linx, yes, it is, and I don't specifically call this garden home but I do live here at the fort." Linx met the paw with his own. This newcomer was relatively... Polite, and lacking in colloquialisms or even contractions. That either meant very outgoing or very withdrawn, and considering this beast's being in a garden, it was definitely the latter.

Casmir smiled politely. "Of course i did not mean the garden itself...i..." he stopped, suddenly feeling self-conscious. He averted his gaze from that of Lynx, and desperately searched for something of interest to say. "Is their a leader here? Or is it some sort of...autonomous collective?" Casmir hoped he was not coming off as strange. Social skills were never his strong suit, and he so desperately wanted to be accepted.

OOC: It's Linx, with an I, not a Y.
BIC: Linx didn't care much about his social skills. He had had few himself until recently and it mattered little to him. He continued as he would for any beast, trying to intentionally set aside Casmir's obvious discomfort. "There is, but I doubt you could easily find her or anything right now, she's all over the place unless you're looking for her... Three hundred or so beasts to maintain, you know."

Casmir was feeling a bit more at ease with his companion, noting the confident air about their person. "I imagine it would be quite a feat to keep order about. I am sure I will meet her in good time. I..is there anything to eat around here? I am quite hungry." Casmir rubbed his aching belly. He had not eaten in quite some time. He had been traveling for nearly a fortnight and his rations were scarce.

"Not in the garden, but you could stop by the tavern if you like... Food and drink everywhere within that place." Linx noted this action of Casmir's, wondering how long the beast had gone without a steady or strong supply of sustenance. That was, fortunately enough, not a worry at the fort.

Casmir was delighted to hear that food was so close at hand. "I thank you." He looked once more, longingly, at the flowers of the garden, then made his way to the tavern.

Linx decided to follow. Nobody he had just met was getting away that fast.
OOC: Perhaps a new thread there is in order.
