Linx was out in the garden with Archon at the latter's request. Dressed in their matching black clothing, identical down to the buckles of their leather gloves, you might not even be able to tell how tense it was at first glance.
Archon was forcefully restraining himself from tears, if only to prevent them from freezing on his face. His bitter cold surroundings accurately reflected how he felt on the inside– Frozen, dead, like a spent cartridge sitting on the ground to be forgotten. Despite his friendly surroundings and Linx beside him, he may as well have been sitting all by himself in a barren wasteland at that moment. "You know... I don't like pain anymore. It used to be kinda cool, you know? In retrospect," Archon slowly continued, "That was one stupid idea. I've had enough of that junk."
Linx was somewhat taken aback by Archon's sudden speech as they stood amid the frost-covered plant life. It took a moment to formulate a response to it. "Well... Guess that rules a lot out... I wish there were something I could just say and fix things. Make them like they were. But this is what we've got to work with... Or not."
Archon looked up at Linx and, out of the corner of his eye, saw someone approaching. He immediately turned towards whoever it was, trying not to wince as he twisted his abdomen, agitating his flanks and back.

**The otters approaching were Fishrudder and his constant companion, Aral. It was long past due to see how Archon was, so him and Linx had arranged to meet up together. He saw the pain in Archon's eyes as he twisted. Fishrudder said to Linx and Archon** Hey, there's a couple of benches over there. Would you like to go over there?
**They were both dressed in casual brown shirts and loose pants. Neither had any arms on them. They were totally casual today**

"Good idea. As I was saying... I don't like pain anymore." Archon gingerly followed the others to the benches in question and even more gingerly sat. "Of course, heh, for me, that's like... Saying I don't like life anymore, or, or something... Heh..." His laugh wasn't half-hearted, but more sardonic. His predicament was so dismal he might as well laugh at it.
Linx sat next to him, leaving Aral and Fishrudder to take the other bench. They were, fortunately enough, directly facing one another, making conversation between the four of them easier. "So... I'll ask this for the sake of these two. Archon, how you doing?"
Hah! Such a good question. "Like I was recently brutally tortured and raped by upwards of fifty different vermin in sequence, why?"

OOC: I understand.
BIC: "Everyone has. Any idea of me having privacy is a joke now. Same with dignity." Archon hung his head low, his tail mimicking it in body language by drooping limply to the ground, devoid of movement.
Linx searched for words, found none, and decided to keep his mouth shut for the time being.

I wish I could help that **Fishrudder said, he turned to Linx and said** You have any ideas. I'd love too help. **Aral was watching. He saw Archon as he head bowed, and his tail with it. A glint of laughter flashed through his eyes, and then disappeared**

"I've been around him for quite a while. Couldn't feel more helpless." Linx hadn't caught Aral's restrained impulse, being busy looking sideways at his dejected mate.

So there is nothing we could do **Fishrudder's face screwed up as he thought. He had no clue what he could do.**

"Man, seriously, I'm telling you... Nothing is the same now." Linx gently placed his paw on Archon's lower arm. He felt it flinch despite this care, which he found rather disappointing. "I can't even go out for a walk with this guy anymore, let alone..." He left that one for their minds to fill in. He had tried and failed doing that and wasn't going to for a while now.
Archon heard all of this, took it in, analyzed it... And made no response. He simply lacked the will to even further acknowledge Linx's gesture of closeness. It was like someone had just torn out his happiness and run off with it, which was something like what happened.

Fishrudder and Aral watched the flinch, both thinking Poor mouse, how long could this last In their own words of course. But Fishrudder spoke up in response to Archon comment from when they had first met. The words had finally formulated in his mind "That's what I thought to, though I have never felt it the way you have I have been beaten to near death when I was younger. What do you mean by junk? Fighting or something else?"
For once his eyes were lacking the fire that was usually there. It was replaced by a rare gentleness, he felt horrible for Archon, Linx too. They had both last alot, Archon bearing the worst, granted Linx lost some too, but it wasn't the same.
Fishrudder knew what Archon was talking about, he brushed it off and said " Like I've said anything you need and I can get, I will help as much as I can"
Aral nodded his head at the young mouse The thought that such a young mouse had to go through such a horrible... His thoughts stopped mid thought, replaced with Redwall He immediately voiced his thought. Interrupting Fishrudder, he stood up. "Find the Land warriors, we are going to Redwall, he will heal better there, we can stay with him. Leave someone in charge of what needs done and head there immediatley. He will be safe there, it will give him peace and quiet, no need of fighting. Or anything like it." He sat back down and waited for their thoughts

"What?" Linx took a moment to process the idea. The first word that came into his mind was ridiculous. "That means I'd have to go with him, and for who knows how long... I belong here. He's not fighting and I can compensate for upkeep. Peace, quiet... More than enough here. The problem is far from external at this point, Aral." As he spoke, the mouse slowly removed his paw from Archon's arm. He wouldn't be trying that one again, for the time being, anyway.
Archon slowly looked up at Aral, the rest of him still motionless. "I stay..." He started slowly, haltingly, and continued so. "With Linx..." Now he was in direct eye contact with the otter, the first time he had made it since the start of the conversation. "Here. I'm not leaving this place." This was where he was in familiar surroundings.

OOC: It's fine. I'll be out for 45 after this one.
BIC: "Why?... What does this... Place I've never heard of... Have that's better than here?" Archon continued speaking in a halting tone. He felt Linx's paw return and this time, instead of flinching he just did his best to accept it. The following thoughts made him involuntarily curl his tail at the very end, slightly.

It's peaceful and quite. You will be safe, very rarely do vermin attack. They will take care of you, the food there is great. Fishrudder is well known there, and we will stay with you

"I repeat... My question... It's fine... Here." Archon was looking down again. As his thoughts subsided then returned to his predicament, he went back to his former body language.
