Luggy Urm was sitting under an old oak tree. He was new to Otter's Fort, so he just sat there enjoying the day. Urm loved to garden, so he knew about many flowers. He picked up a tulip and sniffed it. "Hurr, hurr this eer tulep smeels vary nice." There was never a time to hate the outdoors, even when it was raining outside! Luggy loved it no matter what.

Linx may have differed on his opinion of the outdoors. Of course, he was no mole, and he did spend a fair amount of time outdoors during his training but it wasn't just sitting under a tree and enjoying the best nature had to offer. When he approached the gardens the first thing he noticed was that there was a mole sitting there. Since when did moles come to Otter's Fort? Then again, there weren't that many species that didn't at all reside there, so it wasn't much of a surprise.
Nonetheless, the mouse approached a tad cautiously. He had had little experience with moles in his time and was unsure how to play it. "...Hi."

Linx had to take a moment to figure out what had just been thrown at him. Completely foreign to molespeak, he was taken aback and couldn't respond right away. "Uh... I'm Linx... Hi," he repeated, feeling like a complete idiot. Why do I have to meet a mole right now?

"I surrender." Linx was done with trying to understand them. It just wasn't working. He decided he'd leave if it kept up, and said nothing further.

"I'm sorry... What was that last part?" Linx looked at Luggy quizzically, attempting to discern what the beast was telling him to no avail. This is gonna hamper communication so bad...

"Oh, right... I've never spoken to a mole before," Linx stated the obvious. He didn't want to have to learn an entirely new dialect, but it was a bad idea to not know anything.

"I figure... I figure I'll have to," Linx responded haltingly after taking a moment to, again, pick apart what Luggy had told him. "After all, talking to you is going to be a hassle if I don't."
