Ellich thought maybe he should actually see with his eyes, the house that is now Linx's. "Wow." Linx wasn't kidding when he said it was really big. Ellich walked up to the door and knocked. He heard someone walking to answer it, so he waited quietly rubbing his paws together for warmth on a colder spring day.

Linx got up from the couch he'd been with Archon on to go and open the door. His face brightened upon seeing who had come to visit. ...Or live there forever. "Ellich! C'mon in!"

"Hey Linx!" Ellich walked in while looking in every direction. "Nice place." Ellich then hugged Linx while saying "Nice to see you!" After looking at the first room he decided to just follow Linx.

Linx returned Ellich's hug and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek while shutting the door with his footpaw. "It's good to see you too," he murmured while retracting his arms. "You want to see the extremely austere kitchen?"

"Fine by me. Lead the way." Ellich followed Linx across the floor while still looking at everything that was around him. "This is a great place. Cant wait to see the kitchen!"

"The dining room..." Linx led Ellich through a room with a long wooden table which had one end up against the wall and apparently seated nine. Once they were done there, it was the kitchen. A water tank stored in the attic supplied a faucet which emptied into a bowl built into the wall. Other than that, it was rather conventional. "Still need to get the old stuff out," Linx commented. "I mean, original. It's too clunky."

"So what does that mean? A new invention maybe? I think you and I could think of somthing." Ellich smiled. "Though you do have running water, which is definatly good."

"You recognize that? I thought this was the first of its kind!" Linx headed over to the sink and let out some water onto his paw. It was just such a liberating feeling to have water rushing out on his command. "I have yet to do a hot water tank, though..."

"That would require a little more work. Though if you really are going to make this place more than it is now, it will be the most impressive house at the fort!" Ellich looked at the water pouring down Linx's paw. "It surely will be."

Linx turned off the water and looked over at Ellich. "I'm thinking about designs for a tower that has a gigantic water tank on it... To power the entire village. It might just work, you know." Hot water tanks would still have to be per building. In any case, though, it would be an investment that could make the fort one of the best places to live in in all of Mossflower.

"That would work, though the system to get the water to the houses would be hard to do, and if any enemies did get into the fort they could poison the whole villages supply of water, which they cant do now. Either way this would work, possibly with some osrt of metal? Definatly not wood made." Ellich liked talking about inventions with Linx. He was the only other inventer that he knew of.

"Well, this tower would be within the fort, and it wouldn't be like anyone could access it whenever they liked. I'm thinking of using the same, resin-sealed steel pipes I used for this setup, no way to tamper with them without spraying water all over the place. There would be a... I guess a motorized pump, steam-powered, perhaps, pumping water in from the river... I bet it'd go over some flame and filters, too, sterilize it. The only real obstacles are building the tower and building all the pipes!" It would be a huge, long-term undertaking, possibly taking months to get water to every corner of the village. Perhaps the main pipes would be underground... And then smaller and smaller ones would branch off. Despite its obvious expenses, this could truly work, which was a bit of a shock to Linx.

"Huh yeah that would work. Nice idea." Ellich wondered how Linx could think of all of those ideas so easily. "How do you do that? How do you get all of the good ideas?" Ellich looked at Linx with awe.

"I dunno, I just... I think of what would help and what kind of machine I can make to attain it," Linx responded with a sheepish grin. "It's fun to, uh..." He seemed to have a knack for designing machines. Chemical stuff wasn't his forte, but mechanical stuff sure was.

"Yeah, well you're really good at it." Ellich laughed. "Well are you going to show me the rest of the house then?" Ellich had finished with looking at this room, but there were many more in the house.
