Tallone grinned widly as she swung it at a target. The thing was lopped neatly in half. A fairly clean cut, too. She turned, whirlign around as she struck another, satisfied at the sound of the post being chopped sharply in two. Her hand felt as if it was grasping no more than air, the balance was so excellent. It shimmered in the sun, making her even more joyful. It'd taken her months to complete, but complete it she had. A brand new double-bladed battle axe, just for her! And with sinuous silver and gold inlays at that! She absolutly adored it, as did Woodchuck, and he has praised her long for her accomplishment. It was her best piece yet.

"Your weapon looks expensive," Linx commented blithely as he stepped into the training grounds. All he had on him, excluding clothing, was a rake sword that he didn't intend to try sparring anyone with, but it looked like Tallone could take him on... And probably sunder his blade, too. That axe was ornate, but far from a decorative dud, as had already been demonstrated.
The mouse approached with a casual air as he scanned over Tallone's battle axe from closer up. It looked like it would have taken at least a month for him to do, with all of that silver and gold inlay. It also looked like it would bisect him if he looked at it too hard. "When did you start using that?"

"Just today. It's taken me months to finish it. I'm not quite sure what I need this kind of power for, though, unless another great war begins..." she said, suddenly sounding a bit down, but it lasted only a moment. "How've you been?" She'd practically locked herself in her forge, so she'd not heard of or from anyone in nearly two seasons. She smiled brightly as she inquired as to her friend's life.

"I've been fantastic," Linx responded cheerfully. He truly had been, having pursued his own conquests so far since the last time he'd spoken with Tallone. It appeared that she'd been working on a solitary project herself, a battle axe at that. The purpose of such offensive power was beyond the mouse, though. All those were good for was breaking doors down and killing badgers with heavy plate mail. "What's with the axe, though?"

"A test of my abilities." she replied. "You DO know how hard it is to make one, right?" she asked. He built C.A.R.s for a living, after all. He should understand the difficulty of manufacture for some weapons. "It marks my graduation from an apprentice blacksmith to a journeyman rank. " she said, gleaming proudly. She looked him over. He'd been well, apparently. Which was odd, to her, because he'd always seemed upset before. "Umm...... Where's Archon?" she asked as she glanced around for the smaller mouse. She hadn't seen him yet.

"What, you think I keep him on a leash or something?" Linx couldn't help but laugh at that idea. Archon had his own life, and he wasn't going to try and force him to stay around all the time. "He's at our house right now... Um, not sure what he's doing, I don't have the ability to see through walls, but he's at the house. Um... Congratulations on the axe, though." She expects me to drag him around all the time? What is this?
OOC: Actually, the CAR was never taken into full production. He does more conventional spring repeaters, since it and its ammunition is more easily mass-produced.

((<.>... I get confused with all of your gun stuff...))
"I was just wondering! Normally you two are together. In fact, I've never seen you apart until now!" she said, planting the axe blade down in the soil and hold her paws up before her as if in self-defense. She grinned and laughed. She'd never seen Linx in such a good mood before.

This may have been tied to Linx's immense success as of late. He glanced down at the axe in the ground with an air of content relaxation. "Well, maybe I should tie him to me, would that help? No, uh, he's got a life of his own now, what with that kid on the way for him and all..."

Tallone stared at him for a moment. Her jaw didn't drop, but her paws did. She stood there a minute, not saying anything, not moving. The axe embedded in the ground began to lean backwards after a moment, and when it finally fell, the haft landed hard on her rudder. "Ouch!" She yelped, moving the axe asidewith a foot paw, then turning back to him. "What kid?"

"Um... He just told me today, Amathyst is pregnant. And he's the father. We're all ecstatic back at the house, I mean, we're gonna have an actual family," Linx explained, beaming brightly at the reminder. Generally, he didn't enjoy being around young, but he'd have to make an exception for a child of Archon's. Of course, he had to wonder who would be counted as a member of the family; there were plenty of candidates at the house. "Everyone's happy about it. Even the beasts that haven't spent eternity around him, I mean... He's gonna be a dad!"

Tallone almost sighed for a moment. she'd been... alittle confused at first. But it was all cleared up now. She smiled, "Well then! Congratulations to you all! Especially Amathyst and Archon!" she said, her rudder thumping the ground happily. How swell it would be to have little feet pattering about the Fort! The thought made her pause for a moment however. "Have you all been installing locks on weapons closets and such? You don't want him or her getting into them. I nearly killed my dad when I was little when I got a hold of one of his crossbows." she said, and for the first time in her life since leaving her holt, she'd been able to speak of her father without feeling upset. Perhaps the temporary isolation had been good for her...

OOC: No, it's a second A, not an E. Not like the crystal.
BIC: "Installing locks on weapons stores... Yes. Been a lot more careful about all that kind of thing, actually, most everything was locked in the first place. Not that it really matters, I seriously doubt we'd be putting the new arrival in my house... Not a good place to raise a child. No, there's another house, Amathyst bought it. That's where Archon will be rearing his young, yep." It was at this point that Linx realized that Archon wouldn't be around to cook for them. Someone else would have to start helping Ellich out.

Tallone laughed. It was probably true. His house would not be a good place to raise a child. "I'm assuming you'll be the godfather, no?" she asked as she sat down, pulling a pair of reading glasses and a small journal from her belt pouch. She polished the glasses on her tunic for a moment, then perched them carefully on her nose. She pulled a charcoal pencil from her pocket and began to draw. She would glance up at him every now and then, and occasionally rub something out with her paw. "So? How do you think your way of life in particular will change?" she asked him as she kept going. She was good at multi-tasking. Esspecially at giving long, annoying monolouges during battles.

Wondering idly what Tallone was actually drawing, Linx's tone implied absentmindedness. In truth, he just wasn't paying full attention to how his speech sounded; word choice was another story. "Not by much. I'm not the parent here, I have a life going and all. Archon is the one who's gonna have a lot of things be different... Not me."

((Hey, my right hand is bothering me today, so I won't be on again until tomorrow. Be back then. Bye!))
"But aren't you two an item? Or did something change while I was sealed away in my shop?" she asked as she continued to sketch and rub, her toung just barely sticking out of the right side of her muzzle, brow crinkled slightly in concentration.
