"No, I don't," Linx sighed resignedly. He looked up the stairs and suddenly boomed out a few words at an ear-splitting volume. "HEY, ARCHON! GET ONE OF THE PILLOWS DOWN HERE!"
It took about twenty seconds for the mouse in question to come down the stairs wearing nothing but a pair of tight-fitting gray shorts and holding a pillow in one paw. He was holding his ear with the other. "Maybe next time if you do it at a higher pitch you could break the windows... For the otter, right?"

"Ya, thanks." said Lagg to Archon, as he grabbed the pillow. "Um, name's Laggerung." introduced Lagg. He then put the pillow at the head of the couch.

"Cool," Archon blandly murmured in response. "I'm Archon. I guess this is a bad time for conversation, so..." He turned to Linx in a fluid transition. "So I think instead I'll just deliver Linx his due punishment for getting me out of bed to just bring a pillow down here."
"Oh, please... I'll defeat you any day." Seeing his mate change his attention to himself, Linx moved up to Archon and gave him a brief kiss. He left a paw on the mouse's back. "Just, uh... Go back upstairs, I'll join you before long. Go on, I won't leave you up there forever."

Lagg didn't notice the kiss that Linx gave to Archon, he was getting comfortable for sleep. "Hey, Linx! If your tired, you can leave me, I'll be fine!" said Lagg. "I'm able to take care of myself!" As he hinted towards the Dirk that was in his right paw. Both arms were crossed, and his eye's were closed.

"Uh, sure," Linx replied loudly enough to hear. Then he turned back to Archon and resumed his hushed voice. "Just go up. I have to snuff the candles and everything, so don't wait for me..."
The mouse nodded and promptly headed up the stairs. No point in arguing, anyway. That Laggerung guy is pretty interesting... Random homeless beast?

That night, Lagg kept tossing and turning in his sleep. He kept saying stuff in his sleep. He had a dream of two otter's a male and female. Both with blood on them. Lagg called out to them, but they wouldn't answer. Lagg woke up in pitch darkness, his heart racing, and sweat coming down his face. "It was probably just a nightmare..." said Laggerung to himself quietly, hoping that he didn't wake up Linx or Archon. Especially Archon, to Lagg, he looked like someone who would kill you if you got on his bad side!

Coincidentally, Archon was the one who had woken up. He headed down the stairs with a lamp guiding him through the dark, eventually locating Lagg and setting down the lamp on a low table between the couches so he could sit down on the nearest one to the otter. It looked like he'd been having a nightmare or something. "I heard... Noises. How ironic, in this house... Are you all right?"

"Ya, I'm fine. i didn't mean to wake anyone up. It was just a nightmare I had, that's all." explained Lagg. His eyes were shaking uncontrollably at the time. It took a lot for him to keep his eyes on Archon.

"You look kind of... Not good." If he were a typical resident of the house, Archon would have been comforting him with a hug right then. As it was, he didn't know how to play it. Looking at Laggerung with a slightly bemused expression, he searched for further words and took a few seconds to find some. "Can I do anything for you?"

"Uh, that's ok. It was probably nothing to worry about." said Lagg, his eye speed was slowing down more. "Thanks though." Lagg layed back down, and rubbed sweat from his eyes. "Oh, before ya go, do you know of a place that I could read about other creatures in Mossflower here at Otter's Fort?" asked Lagg.

"I'd offer the fort library but you aren't enlisted.. Um... There's probably something in this house about it, actually, I mean, we have books everywhere." The house was not just a fortress but a miniature library itself. There were books all over the place, particularly upstairs and within the living room they were in then. Archon moved off the couch to squat on the floor beside Tagg. "Do you need to pursue that right now?"

"Ya, I think I am. I can't sleep right now, and it might help me sleep again." explained Lagg. He got up off the couch, making sure not to hit Archon. "Thanks for your help again." said Lagg, as he walked over to a pile of books.

"You'll have better luck on the bookshelf, uh, I know none of those have any information you want," Archon quickly advised, watching Laggerung closely. Don't open those books! "Just, um... Take the lamp and light some of those candles, yeah... Get the room lit up... Hey, I heard you got a cold, how's that doing?"

"It's doing better, just needed to get in a warmer place." said Lagg. "Before I do light any candles, do you know of any books that are here, that are about creatures who've lived here before?" asked Lagg. He quickly scanned the covers of the different books, hoping to find one that would give him what he was looking for.

"Third shelf from the bottom, black cloth binding, about twenty from the far left wall, silver-inlaid cover. Take a look at it, I think that's what you want." Archon lay back against the couch and rubbed his eyes with the heels of his paws. He'd been woken up at a pretty bad time of night and wanted desperately to go back to sleep.
