"I was going to say, 'I don't have a lot of money on me'!" smiled Lagg. "Well, it was nice meeting both of ya." With that, Lagg stuck out his paw. "I'm sure we'll see each other somewhere!"

"You're gonna inevitably meet one of the guys, probably Linx again, if you stay here for more than a day, so just hang around. You'll be needing an actual house and job, soon, won't you?" Perhaps he could get a loan from the fort. Archon was suddenly struck with an idea there. A private loan company... Money storage... Monetary bank. More money!

"I'm still going to have leave to find a house and job, though!" explained Lagg. "And besides, if I'm getting this hint right, there's to many animals living here." guessed Lagg. He wasn't sure of where this conversation was heading to.

"Of course you are, I mean, this house is pretty much filled to capacity, any more would be too many... But the point there is, I'd like to know what you actually plan to do. There are plenty of housing vacancies, yeah, but even the cheapest one-room purchase is, what, 500 coins? What are you gonna do, get a loan from the fort or...?" Despite his detachment from the situation, Archon couldn't help but feel concern at Laggerung's situation. He sounded like he'd end up working full-time manual labor for some pretty bare-bones wages, which would be barely enough to pay for food once taxes and any mortgage he planned to take were subtracted from it.

"If things turn out for the worst. I guess I would just have to either, A: Steal for food, and live somewhere in or out of Otter Fort, or B: Move to back to Redwall." explained Lagg. He didn't really want to resort to stealing, and he didn't want to move back to Redwall, not so soon and becuase he just found his old home. "But, that's if things don't work out as planned."

"Well, nobody minds you moving out, but steal for food and you'll end up with a fine you can't pay and possibly a jail sentence. And you really, really don't want that." The Otter's Fort penal institution was so unbelievably unbearable on the inmates' part that even heftier sentences could be less than a month within its walls. Many of the guards the fort could offer were placed within the fort itself, not just up on the walls, taking crime down to a wonderfully low level. Archon, who loathed crime and all who participated in it, couldn't bear the idea of Laggerung being a thief. "I don't, either. So what do you have planned?"

Lagg sighed, he didn't know of anything else to do at the time. "I'm not sure...I'll probably try to find a job of some sort, big or small. And if that doesn't work, then I leave, never to come back." said Lagg, with a small smile on his face. Lagg didn't want to be sad again, around Archon or anyone at the moment, he needed to do the best he could of the situation. "Or better yet, I just die and live with my parents after I find out who killed them, so vengeance could be served for them." explained Lagg, still with the same small smile.

Or, better yet, he just dies. This sentence struck Archon as outright disturbing. He frowned slightly as its message sunk in. This one wants to die now? I hate this situation. "I really don't think that'll happen. Aside from the idea of vengeance being one of the worse ones I've heard of, wanting to die so you can join your parents is one of the worst ideas that I've heard. What, you think they're getting impatient waiting for you? ...You think there's time in the afterlife?" Despite the philosophical direction the conversation was taking, at least he could keep Laggerung talking. If he just left the otter the way he was, the fate he would inevitably reach would be very soon.

"I don't know about time in the after life, but hey, it's possible." shrugged Lagg. He looked at the room one last time. "Well, I think it's best I head out." said Lagg, he turned and opened the door. Instantly after being halfway through the doorway Lagg stopped, but had his back to Archon still. "Oh, and remind Linx to put up those porno books...!" smirked Lagg.

Archon couldn't help but give Laggerung an odd look, even though the otter wasn't actually looking at him. Perhaps he had been horribly misled or something, maybe referring to that pile of books he'd seen before. Whatever the case, it was worth talking about; those books stayed upstairs, always. "Did you actually check to see what those are and you're joking, or did you just make a really stupid blunder?"

"I didn't check them..." explained Lagg. "I thought I had a feeling last night, and how he and you have reacted the whole time I was here." He then turned his face just enough to see Archon. "But that's your's and his own preferance." And with that, Lagg left the house, making sure that door was closed.
