"Might be." She reminded him again. "Might be wanting a permanent place." It wasn't as if she'd stick around for long periods of time regularly, her job called for traveling and she was clearing fine with following that calling.

"Well, yeah, that depends if you want an actual job or you just want to stare at the walls the whole time. What, you think you'll have to go anywhere else to find an abundance of targets?" Most of them were ones that didn't actually live there. In that sense, Sleet would help make her presence more discreet by not fitting into that majority. Archon didn't bother to say all that, though.

She shrugged, "You never know, huh? What if I hate the decor? Or the home set up just isn't up to par with my standards? I mean I really must take these things into consideration before i really decide on what to do." She siad it in all seriousness, but it was quite obvious she meant it sarcastically, her half-a-tail twitched behind her.

"You act like you only have one residence to choose from," Archon muttered under his breath. It felt like there was just no talking to her; he didn't take that as a bad thing. In her line of work, that was likely a handy trait to have. With this assumption, her letting his words bounce off her bounced back off himself as well. "In any case, the fort is pretty much right there. I might want to go ahead to tell the guards that you aren't a prisoner and they don't have to open fire due to your not being bound."

"That'd be pretty nice of you, I mean I wouldn't want to be shot or anything." She said giving his repeater a dirty look. She did put away her knife however, she knew it didn't make a great first impression all the time.

"If you don't like this repeater... That's just a little bit sad if you don't like it. Because that'd mean that either you only use unaided blades and traditional weaponry, no poison, no technological additions, nothing like that at all... Or else you're being hypocritical and I'll be so aghast that I'll forget to tell the guards who you are." Archon meant this last part as more a joke as anything else. He started up ahead to go inform the wall sentries of who he had with him.

She chuckled at his joke, but rather then interrupt him as he moved towards the fort she stayed quiet. She didn't exactly dislike his weapon, she just liked hers more, also the idea of a giant flying metal bolt going through her wasn't very comforting. She moved over to a pine and leaned agaisnt the trunk of it, waiting.

OOC: .475 inches diameter is huge?
BIC: Archon signaled to the guards to indicate for them to hold their fire, then waved back to Sleet. "Hey! Come on, they're not gonna kill you a lot!" As if they'd only do it a little. Archon preferred the newest technology over older methods, mainly because it tended to be consistently better. Not that he'd try and influence that ferret on the matter. Either she bought some contraption of Linx's or she didn't.

"Not a lot?" She said, strolling towards him, her arms crossed over her navel. "Oh that sounds very promising, doesn't it?" She looked carefully at the fort as she reached Archons side, her eye's fleeted about the important parts of the structure... and the beasts guarding it.

"I know," Archon replied with a subject change, "the fort has way too many guards. There's not much else to stick 'em on when they aren't training, though." He turned to walk in line with Sleet as they approached the fort. The gates were already open, as they always were when weather was good and the alarm wasn't raised, so he didn't have to signal for the guards to unlatch the doors, either.

"Its not bad." She shrugged, she looked around as they entered, careful and calculating constantly, she knew no other way of thinking. "Have you always lived here?" She asked airily.

"If I already told you that I lived elsewhere with my parents, what kind of question is that? Are you just using too much of your brain to figure out how to infiltrate various places here or what?" This was only somewhat joking. Archon found that many a new beast was in fact only interested in breaking into some place or other. If Sleet turned out to be no exception, he'd get to throw her in jail.

"I might be..." Sh mused, not much emotion in her voice, she was interested in other things. "Where did you live, then? South?" She remembered he has spoken of northern beasts in a fasion that suggested he had never lived there, while she was only slightly interested in this sort of information she didn't exactly want to end a conversation with 'yeah actually, I'm totally after ripping off everyone in your village.'

"Does that even matter? I lived in the forest. Even I don't know where. Again, it doesn't matter, what does matter is that I live and work here now. I also happen to be particularly loyal to it, congratulations to me." There were few in the military who weren't as loyal as he was. In order to even get in, beasts had to be ready to die for the fort.

"Yeah." She agreed in the same distant voice, "Congratulations then..." She paused, her eyes still wondering about her, quite swiftly she turned to him, "Wheres your house, then?"
