Fishrudder stepped into the heavily used training grounds, the doorway to it was worn as it had been pushed open so many times. He stepped in, strapped too his waist was a single sword. Just in case of an attack, he wasn't worried about that though. He was clad in rags almost, he would have dressed better, but he knew he would have armor on soon, so he wore underarmor things. He glanced around, no Linx, though there were a few recruits looking at him strangely, he didn't meet their eyes and went to a bench and waited for Linx.

Linx arrived in light but stylish clothing, a deep red vest and a clean white pair of shorts covering his body for the day, with nothing else on but footwear. He carried a large, heavy-looking bundle on his back, and a box with a spare paw. Nodding to Fishrudder with a smile, the mouse quickly approached. "Hey, Fishrudder... Got a little present for you!"

That's what I was told **He grinned at his old friend. Since the whole Archon thing they had drifted apart, until they barely ever talked now, pretty much only when it had to do with the fort. With the anticipation of a child he said** Ok, can't stand it, what are they?

"Put this on." Linx hefted the pack on his back and dumped its contents out on the ground in front of him: Steel helmet, goggle-mask array, breastplate, jacket, undershirt, leggings, and boots. The cloth items were neatly folded. "Now, technically, you have to go shirtless when getting into this... Otherwise, it's kind of overheating. Actually, really overheating. I think it's obvious how you put it all on, though..."

Ok, **Fishrudder took off the rag shirt and slipped on the whole suit, it would take some getting used too, the green shaded reticle was interesting, to say in the least. He took the helmet off and tied his boots, he put the helmet in the crook of his arm, The armor fet him well, now for the box.**

"This box has a CLOS2 in it, with ammunition," Linx started after watching Fishrudder change a bit too closely for his own good. He opened the box to reveal a carved-out spot for the weapon he had just mentioned, with a deadly-looking revolver in it. There were a number of bullets beneath it, but apparently it was already loaded. "As you can see, the bullets have much smaller cartridges, the same diameter of the bullet, which is now just .45, not .475. And the bullets are lead, so it's more inertia."

He actually knew enough to know what Linx meant, he nodded and reached for it. He felt the weight in his hands, semi-light, good sidearm. He hefted it and said two things "How many cartridges and any holster?

"Not for that box," Linx replied, "but you have one built into your undershirt! Yes. Built into it. Riveted into it. It's not going anywhere... That CLOS2 is loaded right now, it gets significantly lighter as it's emptied. I mean, you can tell, easily... The lead is a lot of its weight." It looked like Fishrudder already knew what he was doing. Linx was surprised by this, to say the least, as very few beasts had an original CLOS and there were only two CLOS2s in existence.

He searched for the holster and eventually found it. He slipped the pistol into it's holster and repeated. "How many cartridges in the magazine? Also, how do you release it?

"Magazine? It's a cylinder. It's a revolver... Six now, it doesn't have to be five with the thinner cartridges... And to pop the cylinder out, you pull on the pin beneath the barrel and it goes out to the left. From there, you can reload or... Whatever." Linx found himself facing a case of serious apathy. This was a lot less diverting for him than it probably was for the otter beside him. At least he got to see him wearing an LWU.

Ok then, shall we test it? **He glanced around, there were no targets in the training area though. And the small explosion might scare the recruits**

"If you like... If you notice, the piston is gone, the rotation comes from pulling the trigger now. The targets are behind you... They're for bolt repeaters but this thing delivers a comparable force to one of those." Linx pointed to the targets behind them tiredly. Fishrudder obviously had never spent much time in the training grounds, as he was looking at it like he'd never even watched troops parade in it.

He turned around, making a face under his helmet, he should have known that. He withdrew the pistol from it's holster and handled it. He carefully aimed at the target and pulled the trigger, with a resounding boom the pistol jerked in his hands as it discharged it's bullet. With a thump it landed in the target a milli-second later.

Linx flinched as he heard the gun go off. It wasn't all that loud, but it sure seemed like it was as the weapon sent a bullet through the target's ring just beyond the bullseye. The mouse turned to Fishrudder with a grin. "You should hold it with both paws... And line it up with your reticle. It's there to make sure you're leveling it right."

Ok **This time he brought his second paw up next to the palm guard and made a half fist, holding it down. He lined it up with the reticle and fired again.
