Linx watched again as Fishrudder pulled the trigger, noting the bullet's position lodged right in the center support behind the bullseye. He had his paws over his ears this time. "Good," the mouse started while fishing some earplugs out of his vest pocket. "Try it from farther away. This is really close, and the target's still."

Ok, what do you want to do, make a recruit run. **He chuckled at his own joke, knowing he shouldn't. He turned and let the pistol rest next to his waist. His ears were ringing from the two shots. He walked about 10 meters back and said.** This good?

"Yeah... You want some earplugs? I think I have two pairs in here, I'll just wear the old one..." Linx quickly swapped pairs and held up a pair of rubber earplugs. The noise was bothering him as well. "Here. Put these on. They'll fit well enough. ...Really, they will."

He chuckled at his last statement and took the earplugs, he worked them into his ears and repeated his question, a bit louder this time, drawing some stares. "THis far enough?"

"I already said yeah!" Linx gave Fishrudder a disdainful glance, then pointed to the target. "Use the reticle. I'm getting out of the way so you don't kill me or... Get smoke in my eyes or anything. Yes, you have to be careful about the smoke," Linx quickly added as he stepped to behind the otter. The last thing he wanted was to get bothered by all that sooty filth that gunpowder made.

Sorry, didn't know what you meant. **Once again he took aim, with a resounding boom he fired, he pulled the trigger again and the pistol jerked again. He reached for the box and pulled the pin out and reloaded. He said to Linx** Ok, I think I am comfortable with it now. I really like this armor, it's pretty comfortable. Wanna go out and find some vermin/

"What the... Well, I'll have to, um, suit up and stuff... Put the empty cartridges in that box, OK? I'll meet you at the gates in fifteen minutes, with Archon, too." Linx turned to leave and started walking. He promptly turned to look at Fishrudder cautiously. "I swear, business trip only..."

**Fishrudder busted out laughing and said** Ok, deal, I'll go grab Aral. What do you say? **He picked up the cartridges and tossed them in the box. He set off at a quick jog, he'd probably find Aral in the tavern, just watching. He finally got to the tavern and spotted Aral in the corner. He walked over and said."Go get your stuff, we're leaving for a bit." He spotted an older hare and called him over, he told him to take care, anything really bad, get Finn, or try and find us.
About 10 minutes later Fishrudder and Aral were at the gate waiting, Fishrudder was decked out in full battle array, new armor and pistol included. Slung over his shoulder was a CAR2 with chemical bullets. On his waist were his twin swords. He was leaning against the wall as Aral hopped from foot to foot impatiently. Aral had on punching gauntlets, elbow daggers and spiked boots, his arms had the strongest gauntlets on him, he was going daggerless today.

Linx arrived beside Archon, both of them wearing LWUs and both arriving exactly on time. The former was equipped with a CEL, while the latter had a CAR2 much like Fishrudder's but with ebony furniture and a solid stock. "Hey," Linx greeted both of them informally while pointing to the gate. "You liking the non-standard battle dress, Aral? How about these steel spiked gloves here, eh?"
Meanwhile, Archon seemed a bit more withdrawn. He absently loaded and cocked his CAR2, setting the safety to the on position before putting it on his back. Eventually, he decided to speak, if just with a vacant murmur. "It's so nice that two couples can meet for a nice outing..."

Fishrudder rolled his eyes at the couple remark as Aral said "Ya, course, I don't get any." He frowned and then chuckled. He glanced around and said to the two commanders. "Where are we going?"

"We're going to our wedding!" Linx burst into laughter for a few seconds before regaining his composure and continuing. "Uh, just a typical vermin hunt... Let's go along the trade routes, bandits camp there. South line might have some good prey waiting for us. And they think they're the predators..."

The hunters become the hunted **Fishrudder chuckled and looked at the other three and then said.** How about going to the south line then up to the west, (Sorry if that's wrong) and then cut across to the river and come back?

"Well, the south line eventually intersects with the beach, yeah, but why would we want to go back up past Salamandastron to the fort and then right past our own place to north of the river? I think we'll get an engagement before then!" This time, it was Archon who spoke. He sounded a bit incredulous.

I think you misunderstood me, what I meant was, go to the edge of the forest, into the plains a bit, up the border of the forest then cut in and go to the river. **Fishrudder turned to face Archon and waited for hte response**

"Well, that's... Different... Can't we just go down the south route?" Archon decided to persist. He already had his plan in mind. "I don't want to have to deal with the plains... Can we just not go through there? South route. Please." The look on his face was obscured by his mask, but it looked more or less pleading.
