Of all the weapons he'd ever created, the CHAR was possibly the hardest to maintain. It was also the most effective, capable of throwing up a wall of smoke with full-automatic fire. However, the gunpowder it used in its cartridges easily clogged up the barrel and especially the gas piston, which had to be meticulously cleaned whenever he was done using it for the day.
Linx strolled through the forest all by himself, cradling his rifle in one arm as if it were a loaf of bread. If it were any other mouse, said mouse would have likely been pounced on by vermin, but Linx didn't mind making his presence known. No vermin even wanted to kill him, due to his extreme potential as an asset, and he was left with the ability to destroy any threat that had the nerve to encounter him. He wore a deep red, short-sleeved shirt and black shorts which looked both subdued and dangerous, implying the presence of a predatory beast at rest.
All he planned to do was go for a walk, though. He was a bit on the tense side and had to keep his safety on because his first instinct, upon seeing anyone, would probably be to pull the trigger.

Having gotten tired of the day's chores, Zahi had decided to take a walk in the forest. Catching sight of a figure ahead of her.
"Who's there?"
Drawing one of her two daggers, she held it in her paw ready to use it if needs be.

Linx whirled around and pointed his CHAR right at where he'd heard the voice coming from, which was Zahi's throat. He'd had his safety clicked off and trigger nearly pulled before he realized who it was before slowly relaxing his finger, putting the catch back in place and lowering his weapon. "Zahi," he sighed. "You aren't vermin!"

"I should hope not... I'd dread to think what I'd look like otherwise."
Lowering the dagger, Zahi sighed as she recognised Linx.
"I guess I'm not the only one who decided to take a walk today huh?"

"No, beasts with legs tend to walk once in a while, you might be surprised but they aren't actually vestigial organs of some sort..." Linx took his left paw off his CHAR's foregrip to hold his paws at either side and look down at himself with a grin before glancing back up to Zahi. "I haven't seen you in quite some time, though. How are things?"

"Maybe, or maybe not."
Walking over to the other mouse, she nodded.
"I'm okay... It's just been busy the last week or so, and even with haveing yersturday and today off, I've bene busy, so I decided to take a walk for a bit today."

"Meanwhile, I'm raking in the coins with exports... Still. I don't know what I'm gonna do with all this money," Linx sighed. He was already supporting a whole bunch of lives that would have been ruined or possibly even terminated without his intervention. It was, of course, a tiny dent in his income to do so. "I have a bunch of funding and it... Whatever. It makes me less busy."

"Being a medic, I don't exactly earn as much as you do."
Looking down at her outfit for a second, Zahi wondered why she had decided to wear a short-sleeved shirt and a short skirt as well.
"Being busy isn't always good."

"I noticed... Thus my walking along with a CHAR here, I'm just... Strolling... Thinking about things." Linx was considering the potential from an odd model glider he'd constructed, which could keep in the air due to, apparently, the shape of the wing's profile. "Being an officer, I earn marginally more than you. Being a magnate, I earn more than your family three times over."

"That's what you get for having two soldiers, one medic, and a seamstress in the family... Varying wages that have an unusual total."
Looking towards the sky for a moment, Zahi let the sunlight falling through the leaves illuminate her befire sighing.
"It really is a nice day today huh?"

"It's good enough for walking, but I've walked through sleet before in the same kind of clothes I'm wearing now and didn't mind," Linx shrugged. The summer was finally starting to set in and he was beginning to remember the kind of leisure he'd enjoyed back then, back before his house, or his business boom, or even the repeater's debut. Things had been simple just a year before. "Nice shirt you have there. Looks good in the sun."

"Thanks... I got Ama to make it for me a few weeks ago when the weather started to warm up a bit. Tough, she seems to be keeping something from me, and I can't for the life of me thing about what it is..."
Giving Linx a once-over she smiled.
"Though, you don't look so bad yourself."

"I do try," Linx smiled, glancing down at his own attire. He was wearing a pair of black sandals that were, as usual, less than a week old. Buying new summer footwear was a fun activity for him and it tended to be inexpensive enough for him to get whatever he wanted. "Ama got you it? What about her?... I dunno. She's Ama. She doesn't live at my house, I don't see her a lot."

"She's trying to hide something from me... But then again, so's Rai and Lars..."
Looking down the path she sighed.
"That's thr trouble being a mother it seems... THe kids and the husband don't want to tell you anything."

"Do you need to have them tell you anything? Really..." Linx didn't understand what it was with beasts and information. He was fine with being kept in the dark on the activities of his house's residents so long as they cleaned up after themselves, kept their upkeeps low and periodically let him join in. "But... Hide something from you? I have no idea what. Don't... Don't ask me..."
