*Dantin was breathing hard as he fended off a blow from Kade with his sword blade. He knocked Kade's sword paw aside and brought the tip of his own sword up to Kade's throat. He smiled and said.* "Now that makes us even. We've each gotten each other four times now!" *Kade goodnaturedly, yet carefully, pushed Dantin's sword aside with his free paw and said.* "That's what you think, I just let you have that one."
*The two mice had been sparring for the better part of two hours now. Ever since getting back, they had made it a habit to do so at least once every day. When they had been on the road, there had been more than enough action to keep them from getting rusty but here, at the fort, they didn't fight as much so sparring was the best way to keep them from losing their fighting edge. Now both mice were tired and fairly sweaty, as one would expect.*
*Dantin sheathed his blade and said.* "I'm beat, I think it's time we got us lunch." *Kade laughed.* "Lunch? If anything it's closer to dinner but I guess you could call it a late lunch." *With that decided, Kade sheathed his blade as well and they both started to leave the training grounds.*

However, Siohen had just started to enter. The pleasantly cool afternoon air made for a good opportunity to wear her southern garb and she approached fearlessly, despite the fact that both mice before her were clearly armed. They were sparring with weapons, which was something she considered a bit dangerous, but it wasn't like she could comment. Talking wouldn't be easy, especially since she didn't know one of the two. However, it didn't take much inferring for her to guess accurately. "D-d-d-d-d-d-d-Dantin?"

*Dantin looked at the mouse that had spoken but didn't have any idea who it was.* "Yes? Is there something I can do for you?" *Kade broke in when he also noticed who it was.* "Oh, hi Siohen! Dantin, this is Siohen. She's new here, hails from the south. One of those isolated villages." *Dantin immidiatly smiled and offered a paw.* "Oh, well any friend of Kade's is a friend of mine. Nice to meet you!" *Apparently he hadn't taken notice of how she had stuttered his name out so badly for he hadn't said anything of it or even seemed to notice it at all.*

That, or he was just being exceedingly polite. Siohen smiled shyly at Dantin and extended her own paw, meeting his and offering a brief handshake. She was planning on finding a sparring partner in the grounds, but with two sword specialists, she wouldn't be able to do anything that wouldn't kill them. Moreover, she couldn't wield a sword herself. "I-i-i-i-i-i-it's nnnnnnnnice t-t-t-t-t... T-t-t-t-t-to m-m-m-mmmeet you t-t-t-t-too," the mouse managed to eventually get out.

*Seemingly, Dantin was being exceedingly polite for he didn't even give her a strange look upon hearing the sentence that she had barely been able to make. He just merely continued.* "So, came here looking for a spar, I'm guessing." *He said as more of a statement than a question. He took note of the fact that she didn't have a weapon on her, which meant that she did unarmed combat, which meant that there would be few to spar with. Most beasts here were only into armed combat. Now Dantin himself could do a bit of unarmed combat but it was pretty limited and wouldn't be much of a challange if she was any good at all.*

Since Siohen had spent nearly her entire life training in unarmed combat, she was at an obvious advantage, but her speech impediments made this impossible to explain. She was trying to use as few words as possible, because every time she said anything it not only took a long time, it also made her feel very, very awkward. Dantin's ignoring it didn't help much, since she got the impression that he was just bored with her. The mouse raised her paws in front of her to show that she had no weaponry on her. "C-c-c-c-c-c-c-can yyyyou sp-p-p-... P... P-p-par with thhhese?" Her stuttering was making her want to just run away.

*Dantin rubbed the back of his head in a sort of an embarresed manner.* "Well, I can a little bit but if your any good then you'll probably lay me out flat in no time." *That probably wasn't very good for her because of the fact that if she didn't have anybeast that was good enough for a good spar then there was the chance that she'd get rusty over time and lose some of her fighting edge. That, of course, is not something that any warrior want to do. That's for sure...*

"W-w-w-w-w-w-w... W-w-w-w-w-well, I... Zh... Zh-zh-..." She was tripping over her own words. Her stutter and consonant impediment made her feel even more self-conscious, which in turn made them both even worse. She was trying to say 'don't' but couldn't due to both impediments. The sentence was beyond her finishing, which provoked a slight step backwards with one footpaw and a very pronounced blush. There was no way Dantin could just ignore half of the sentence being missing.

*Dantin involuntarily took a slight step forward as Siohen back up slightly, blushing profusely.* "Hey, no need to get so upset over a few words, just try and..." *And this point, Kade put a paw on Dantin's shoulder, and shook his head, implying that Dantin just stop. He then said to both of them.* "I'll be back in a minute." *Then dashed off to the barracks. Dantin just looked at him blankly and then looked at Siohen blankly.* "Do you know what he's doing?" *He asked in a bemused manner.*

Shaking her head without actually giving Dantin eye contact, Siohen stared at Kade as he ran over to the barracks and entered, disappearing from view. There were innumerable things inside that he could be retrieving, but none of them had anything at all to do with sparring. All she wanted to do in the first place, after all, was practice her unarmed combat technique. If he returned with parchment, ink and quill, she'd probably throw them at something– or someone– because it would just cap off the exasperation she was feeling right then.

*When Kade returned from the barracks, he did indeed have parchment, ink and a quill. He had a bit of a lopsided smile as he held them out to here so she could say what she was trying to say. It was all done in a kind manner and Kade was only trying to help so he didn't really expect much but for her to use the things he had brought for her to use.*

Aghast at this gesture, the mouse just stared at Kade open-mouthed for a few seconds. Siohen looked down at the writing materials in his paws and considering swatting them away, but decided against it for fear of alienating him. A clear scowl had formed on her face and she shook her head at him with clear dismay at this patronizing gesture. She made an attempt to speak, but it was further impeded by her shock and anger. "P-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p... P... P-p... P-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-... P..." Her demeanor now clearly more offended than shy, Siohen fought to speak as hard as she could and then some. "P-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p... P-p-p-p-p-p-p-put... Thhhhhat... Awwwwwwwway," she growled.

*Upon the response that Kade got and the clear anger that Siohen was showing him, his arms slowly started to drop as look of confused hurt started to form on his face.* "B- but why? I thought you would want these..." *He said, the feeling of dejection clear in his voice and current body language. He couldn't figure out why in the world she would be angry with him for providing her the means to communicate for the moment. He was, indeed, rather hurt.*

Siohen realized that in order to fully communicate the situation to Kade, she would have to actually accept the parchment, ink and quill and write down her thoughts, because it was too complicated to just say in one sentence. Overwhelmed by the ironic pain that this revelation brought on, the mouse started to openly sob in a mix of frustration and sheer sadness, once again being reminded of the depth of her verbal disorder. Any good first impression she might have made on Dantin was now likely dissolved, seeing as she was having an emotional breakdown in front of him just because Kade brought her some writing tools.

*Both Dantin and Kade looked at eachother with wide eyes. Not knowing what was going on. Neither really moved at all. Kade normally would have tried to comfort her but he was still feeling rather hurt by her immidiate reaction to him trying to help her and was to shocked. Dantin didn't know what was going on and if he tried to comfort her, wouldn't know what he was trying to comfort her for because he had no idea as to why she was suddenly crying. In fact, neither of them had any idea as to why she was crying. It's safe to say that they were quite shocked.*
