"I zhs-zs-zh-szh-zshon't lllllike the iszh... Thhhe izhea of so mmmmmuch metal in my p-p-p-p-p-p-paw." She hadn't been brought up around bladed weapons at all and barely knew about their existence. Being trained to wield one was a long way off from her upbringing. Siohen clearly disliked the idea of so much metal in one place, seeing as iron was about as common as silver where she came from. It didn't feel right in a weapon in particular, when she had her own body to rely on for that.

"Well," *Dantin shrugged,* "your choice. I'm not sure how much I can help you out then. Metal weapons are only normal here, heck, even vermin have weapons, rusted as they are." *Kade immidiatly added.* "That's nothing against you of course, it's just the way fighting is done around here and among other places." *He didn't want to risk insulting Siohen by Dantin saying that even vermin have weapons. Like saying that even the vermin have metal weapons so why don't you? That wasn't what Dantin was trying to say at all.

Nevertheless, it came across that way. Rather offended by Dantin's statement, Siohen responded with an icy, silent glare. Her entire life had been spent training on something that had just been dismissed in favor of a technological advantage. Although it did sound appealing, her past experience didn't deserve such abuse. It was useful, in her mind, anyway. Hopefully, Dantin would pick up on his faux pas before it got any worse.

*Dantin held up his paws in a placating manner.* "Seriously, I didn't mean anything against you. I just meant that everybeast around here fights like that, even the vermin. I don't mean anything against you, heck, you could probably knock me out cold right now before I could even draw my sword." *Kade had to laugh a little at the thought of Dantin getting his face knocked in.*

"I c-c-could, actually." Walking up to Dantin with more or less the same expression as before, she remained entirely still for a moment, then a flash later had her paw about a millimeter away from his lower left neck. Her claws were retracted, but a knuckle protruded menacingly. She didn't intend to hurt him, but to demonstrate that her skills were actually comparable to armed combat. "This woul' strike your caroti' artehy an' knock you out," the mouse uttered with, again, the same confident fluency as before. It was, as usual, a fluke, but it was a very large one this time. Her comfort zone was currently surrounding her, what with being mentally in the unarmed combat field once more.

*Dantin hadn't flinched. He hadn't moved at all really. He hadn't feared that Siohen would actually strike him though he wouldn't really have been surprised if she had. He simply smiled at her.* "See? As I said, it's nothing against you, far from it, it's just the way it's been done around here for quite awhile now." *Kade hadn't said anything but he really didn't like Siohen showing that she could've knocked Dantin out. If some other beast had walked in when she'd done that then she could've been in more than a bit of trouble. She's just lucky that, as a sergeant, Dantin was a rather kind one. If it had been near any other beast at the fort of his rank or above then she'd have been in quite a bit of trouble. She seemed to have forgoten that Dantin was indeed her commanding officer.*

She was aware of it, but as mice went, Siohen wasn't a very submissive one. Shy as she was, encroachment on her own values would result in an equal and opposite encroachment; it wasn't exactly honor so much as it was defense of her self-worth. Were it not for that, she'd be dead by now. Lowering her paw steadily, she turned to Kade and offered an acknowledging nod. "I zhs-js-zhon't t-t-t-t-t-typically shz-jzh-sh-zhs-j'o that," the younger mouse offered to him.

"Well, uh..." *started Kade.* "I'd advise to not do that anymore, typical or not. If that had been any of your other commanding officers then you would probably be in quite a bit of trouble right now... just so you know." *In truth, Kade was a bit put off by the fact that Siohen had felt it necessary to show an example of what she coulda done. It'd be like either Kade or Dantin suddenly drawing his sword and stopping the blade from stabbing Siohen a millimeter from her neck, just to show that they could've done her in.*

Had that happened, Siohen would have responded with a block. In fact, she was surprised Dantin didn't even try. Unarmed versus armed would make for an interesting spar, but that would be something to take out into the training grounds. She didn't quite care that it was so inadvisable to do that sort of thing, because she didn't intend on doing it ever again around this group, but having been belittled on a very grave level, it was, in her mind, a just response. "C-c-c-c-can I spah w-w-w-w-w-w-with anyone?"

"Well, sure, though it wouldn't be much of a spar seeing as how we'd end up on the ground and you wouldn't really gain much of anything from it." *Dantin said with a bit of a laugh, though he was totally serious. It really wouldn't be much of one. Kade wasn't too keen on sparring anymore. In fact, he wasn't too keen on much of anything at the moment. This being said, he was just kinda standing there and didn't respond to Siohen's question.

"You c-c-c-c-c-c-c-could use a wwwwweapon," Siohen suggested blithely. A bladed weapon would be impossible for her to defend against, since she didn't even know they existed beyond simple hatchets, and obviously had no training for them; unless they wanted her to become an amputee, they'd need to use bludgeons. Those would be a lot more interesting to fight against.

"Well, swords are out obviously... I don't really wanna use a club or mace or anything like that, I just don't like them... how about a short-ish stave? I could wield it mostly like my sword and there'd be alot less chance of losing life and limb on your part." *Replied Dantin. He was mostly used to his sword but this was about the closest thing that they'd get to it, probably. Once again, Kade was zoning out. It had been a long time since he'd done stuff like this. Of course, when he'd first come to the fort, he'd done it all the time because it was better than trying and failing to socially interact with otherbeasts. That had been then, though; he'd grown out of doing that...*

Apparently, not, since he was doing it right then. Siohen was faced with the dilemma of who to fight. Although she could take on two opponents at once, it greatly increased the chances of someone getting hurt, and that didn't include herself. Rather, it would probably involve her breaking one of the other mice's bones. Since that was nothing but undesirable, another option would be needed. She turned to Kade to ask, then realized he wasn't paying attention. It didn't affect what she said, though. "Who wwwwoul' I f-f-f-f-f-fight first?"

*Kade jerked out his zoning out as Siohen spoke directly to him.* "Wha? Oh, uh... well, I'm not in much of a sparring mood anymore..." *His voice kinda trailed off at the end of the sentence. Dantin made a face at Kade that basicly said 'What's wrong with you?' and Kade made a face back that basicly said 'Shut up.' Their silent conversation having come to an end, Dantin said.* "Well... I guess that means me, then..."

Nodding slowly, Siohen decided against speaking further. She gestured to the door, looking to it as if something was going to happen with it. In fact, something was, indeed; they'd hopefully be walking through on the way to the training grounds for a nice spar, where she would get to throw some other mice around like the old days. Actually, they were about a week old, which was, when she thought about it, a bit sad. Her old life was just that far away from this new one, but it felt like it was aeons ago.
