Great to read to. Archon was preventing sheer boredom from capturing him at the Sickbay by reading an intriguing visual history of repeaters, put into print by none other than his mate. Actual... Print, it was with those block things that he heard Raiden had recommended. He was so wrapped up in the change from crank operation to pump action that he didn't even notice when Linx entered the room.
"Hey, Archon. Enjoying a nice read?" Linx walked up to beside Archon, who was actually rather close to the door, and gave him a gentle pat on the shoulder. The mouse was dressed in his typical winter garb, a major contrast from Archon's shirtless attire consisting of... One pair of bleached white shorts. Fortunately, that was under a blanket, so Archon wouldn't freeze to death. "We have beasts saying hi."

Hi Archon... How are you today?
**Amathyst ventured in behind Linx to see her friend, who it seemed was in the sick bay more thimes than she was... Not that she was complaining mind, she just didn't like having to lie on the beds and be examined by a doctor for even the most minor wound she incured.**

"I feel like someone shot an arrow through my lower abdomen. ...Well, someone did..." Thanks to a new technology regarding blood transfusion, Archon had survived the severe blood loss from his wound, so he supposed he could thank science for his life... Again. Not that it didn't hurt or anything, this arrow was one of the most painful objects Archon had ever had stuck in him. He looked up at Amathyst with a smile, closing the book over his thumb to prevent the page he was on from being lost. "Good to see you."
Linx glanced down at the cover of the book. "Oh, I see you're reading my first publication... Yep, I'm an author now. I did a book. Go me. You like it?"
"It's cool... I'm on the change to pump-action repeaters." Archon was just devouring this book. It was absolutely intriguing, and Linx made it.

Ouch... I've had something similar before... It was that day dad was testing out his re-forged sword... So yeah... I feel for you there my friend.
**Raising an eyebrow at Linx, Amathyst smiled slightly.**
I never would have pegged you as the bookish type Linx... You're always so technical with your inventions.

"Oh, don't worry. It's a visual history of repeating weapons, so I got to just talk about my inventions and show some drawings of them. Mainly just to compile my works, but it does make for some good tech diffusion..." Linx glanced down at Archon affectionately. "Well... Glad you like it, Archon."
"One of the nice things about being stuck in the sickbay... Excellent natural light." Archon reopened the book to look at a drawing of the pump-action repeater. "I just love the way the pin has those prongs going around the next bolt... Great distraction from the arrow wound."

I couldn't stand the light everytime I was in here... I spent most of the time trying to sleep off the effects of the pain killers and such stuff, and with the light shining into your eyes almost all day, that's kind of hard to do.

"Really? You must have had an end bed... Because mine's facing the south. The light never actually gets in my eyes, it's just sorta there..." Archon thumbed the page over and was now faced with a three-dimensional close-up of the pump-action bolt repeater's internal components next to the crank-operated counterpart, comparing how complex they each were. It was obvious that the former was simpler. "This is such a cool book..."
"Huh..." Linx looked down at the drawing, pretty much peering over Archon's arm. He had to admit, it was impressive, but that didn't matter much. "You sure you're not just apologizing for your unavailability as of late?"

Really? I never took note of where the bed was... Spent most of the time hiding from the sunlight so that I COULD sleep... I wish they'd put curtains up in here so that light doesn't blind patients.

"You could've asked... Or you could just ask them to shutter the window." Linx involuntarily placed a paw on his mate's far shoulder, intently reading the book he had made with him. "The big thing about pump-action is that you don't have any gears, which are a nightmare to clean..."
"Thanks, Linx." Archon gave a sarcastic smirk before returning to the text. "You said it... Here. Yep. You're right. You've confirmed yourself."

While trying to sleep? I doubt I could have formed coherrent words even if I tried while awake... That's kinda reflected in how many pain killers they had to give me...

"Yeesh..." Archon closed the book again and looked up at Amathyst. It was only polite, and he had always had a sort of affection for her... Not... The kind that would mess things up. Just the platonic kind. "That's too bad. I'm actually kinda used to being here by now, those couple weeks after being captured really hammered it in... But now I'm pretty familiar with this place. You know, there actually are curtains. I saw them once."

I personally try to stay out of here... Got out eariler this week after I pulled something in my leg while sparing against my brother without weapons... I recall, I spent about two months in here after that incedent... Dad had to carry me out because I was scared to go by myself... Still scared now, but Linx was kind enought to walk me here weren't you?

"Yeah... I suppose I was." Linx had just been thinking... About Archon. He had never really come to grips with what had happened to him. Sure, there was initial pain and all, but what afterwards? A bit of being apprehensive? What was this? Archon's emotions were being bottled up... Which couldn't be good.
In truth, Archon was feeling miserable about that. He had been... Taken... And used, until he wasn't worth it anymore and they would have killed him... And then he would have been better off than he would be in the inferno his life had become now.

Yeah... That was hard on a lot of us... Us three and dad especially... But you know what he says about the pain we both suffered during it? He said not to keep it bottled up and to talk about it.

"Oh, good. I have a lot of talking to do." The dam burst. "Feel like a toy or something. That's been used and abused and now it doesn't work anymore and should be taken out with the rest of the trash." He could still feel the burning sometimes... "Life is just a tad completely unbearable now."
Linx... Had no idea how to respond. He didn't pride himself on helping in situations like this.
