Nodding once more, Siohen glanced over to the bar to see if they'd be getting their food any time soon. As if by magic, she spotted an otter carrying a tray laden with food approaching their table, and gestured with her paw. She wasn't yet absolutely sure that it was their waiter, as the concept of having food delivered to her table was still rather foreign, but it was about to be found out anyway.

"Ah'm comin', missie, ah'm comin'." *The otter said upon seeing Siohen gesturing at him. Kade just kinda covered his eyes and shook his head a bit, that was so... impolite to do such a thing. He figured that she probably didn't know the difference but it was still... impolite. The otter sat their food and drink down in front of them and went of with a huff. Apparently he hadn't taken that too well.* "Well, at least our food is here..." *He said, more to himself than to Siohen even though it was loud enough for her to here.*

Siohen didn't understand what they'd done with her eggs. She'd only seen boiled eggs before, not fried. She didn't know what the fork beside it was, either, perhaps some sort of ornamental ceremonial... Northern thing. The mouse extended a finger and poked at the egg curiously, unsure what they'd done to it to flatten it like this. It looked wet like it'd been doused in oil, but that didn't have anything at all to do with eggs. "Wh-what..."

*Kade looked up at Siohen as he said her one word phrase. He was already biting into his turnover and so had to swallow what was already in his mouth before speaking.* "What? It's eggs. You cut it with the side of your fork and then stick it with the fork and then eat it. Simple as that." *He said, then continued on his turnover. It was good to get something to eat finally after the night watch he'd sat through, though it probably couldn't compare to what Siohen had gone through based on her appearance from the barracks.*

She offered a confused and rather unimpressed facial expression as she looked at the eggs. They were probably too slippery to effectively lift with her fingers like she would a boiled egg and now Kade was talking about some sort of 'fork' apparatus. Apparently, it was something that had a sharp edge and a point, since she would be able to cut the egg and, as Kade had so eloquently put it, 'stick it with the fork'. "W-w-w-w-wait... F-f-f-f-f-fork?" Hopefully, he'd understand that she didn't know the term.

*Kade looked up again at Siohen's stuttured messege. Apparently she didn't know what a fork was either.* "It's that thing rught there." *He said and pointed at the object in question.* "The sides aren't sharp but it's enough to cut off a slice of egg. Then you just stick it with the fork and eat it." *This time he didn't go rught back to eating, he wanted to make sure that Siohen understood what he meant first.*

Not willing to speak further, she grasped the fork tentatively, not sure how to actually hold it. She held it like one might hold a match as she carefully cut a corner of the egg away and then used one single tine to spear it. Lifting it to her mouth with minor hesitation, she bit at it to test its flavor before anything else, and was surprised by how rich and oily it tasted. Beasts around here must have had it great to be able to waste so much fat on a simple breakfast.

"You like it?" *Kade asked mildly, he had now started back on his turnover but took the time to ask the question just for the heck of it. He had no real reason because knew that the eggs here were top knotch and that she probably hadn't had any quite like them before. In fact, he wondered how she had had eggs before because she seemed confused at first by the way they were made here. Perhaps it was a northern thing...*

Having never eaten fried food before, Siohen wouldn't have eaten much of it due to its richness were it not for her overbearing hunger. As soon as she realized it didn't taste bad, she dug in like a beast that had been kept from food for over a week; this was, in fact, the truth. The eggs were gone in seconds, as were the contents of her water glass. She didn't even bother to nod to Kade; he'd be able to see for himself.

*Looked on in awe that a beast could eat so fast. The eggs had vanished in seconds and then the same fate befell the water.* "Goodness, you must've been starving..." *He said, absently finishing off his turnover. Next for him was the soup, but he wasn't quite ready to start that yet. He took a few swigs of his water before setting it down. He was still surprised that Siohen could eat all of that in such a short amount of time. His hunger was nothing compared to her's, apparently, and wouldn't be surprised if she wanted more.*

Deciding to maintain the nonverbal approach, as it seemed to convey a lot more about her situation, Siohen tapped her fork against her plate to indicate that she desired seconds. She held onto the fork, though, assuming that putting it down would be a gesture of satisfaction with how much food she'd already eaten. The eggs now in her stomach were set upon by her body with the same ferocity that she'd given it externally, but her hunger persisted. Staring at Kade expectantly, she tried not to discomfort him while he ate his... Liquid. It looked like pond water.

*Kade noticed that Siohen was starring at him and figured that meant that she was still hungry. He got up with a sigh, muttering to himself* "Dantin's gonna have to dig me out of this hole..." *This talking about the cost of the food. Kade was still only a regular soldier so he barely got paid enough to go out to eat maybe once a week and now he was paying for two and one of them wanted seconds. He was gonna have to put it on his tab for sure and then Dantin was gonna have to help out, as Kade figured he would. He walked over to the bar and ordered more eggs before returning to the table and taking his seat.*

Wondering who this Dantin beast was, Siohen idly tapped her fork against her left palm. There was nothing to do while she waited but try and wonder what it was that was in Kade's edible pond-water-ish meal. It looked like there was some sort of plant arrangement in it, and it looked rather colorful, too. Apparently, it'd been loaded up with strange foreign northern foods that she didn't know about. Ironically, a few of them were actually southern, but she didn't know about them due to her isolated origins.

*Kade noticed Siohen staring at his soup as he sat back down at the table.* "Is there something wrong with my soup?" *He asked curiously, he hadn't figured that she wouldn't even know what soup was. Everybody knew what soup was, right? Well, despite Kade's thought process, apparently not.*

"S-s-s-s-ssssoooup?" It was difficult for her to pronounce. Having never even heard of it before, she just looked at him with mild confusion. All she knew was that she wanted more food, but now she was being given a definition for edible pond water. That was what it was to her, after all; pond water with plants in it, heated up. That was what it looked like, anyway. Why anyone would want to ingest that was beyond her.
