"You know what soup is... right?" *-Wow... I had no idea that there were creatures alive that don't know what soup is.- he thought to himself with a bit of amazement.* "Well, uh... you take some water, throw certain types of vegetables and or meat into it along with some spices and the such then boil it and there you have it, soup. Quite a tasty thing that's good at just about any time of the day, depending on what kind of soup it is." *That was the quick version of it and pretty much the only version that Kade knew for he was definitely no cook.*

Nodding slowly, Siohen did her best to not get confused. The earthenware jugs and pots back at home would crack under that kind of heat, and they didn't have enough metal to make cooking equipment like that out of it. In fact, the wooden one-use containers they fashioned for boiling eggs were the only thing that got even remotely close to this. It was all a bit of a shock to be immersed in a vast culture like this and it wasn't helping her speech capability out. She opened her mouth to speak, but closed it upon realizing she wouldn't be able to say a word to Kade.

*At almost perfect timing, the waiter appeared with more eggs. He set them down and then left without a word, still apparently not happy with his earlier treatment.* "Well, there are your eggs finally." *Kade said casually and started back on his soup. It was good, as usual and Kade made sure to enjoy it as much as possible seeing as how he didn't know the next time he was gonna be eating out again at this rate.*

These eggs went down Siohen's gullet just as quickly as the first batch, if not more so because she now had some idea of how to use the fork. She snapped at them with the violent hunger of a carnivorous beast, even though she was perfectly capable of eating in a more civilized manner in other scenarios. The fact of the matter was that her hunger necessitated that quick a solution. Once they were gone, the mouse let out a content sigh and wiped a few specks of egg off her whiskers idly.

*Kade was around halfway through his soup upon this site that occured before him. He set his spoon down and propped his head up on one of his paws.* "Well, I've just about lost my appetite after that..." *Indeed, he pretty much was hungry anymore after that little spectacle of hunger to it's most extreme degree. It was just... so very strange, and a bit scary as well.*

Siohen sighed in exasperation and gave Kade a mildly impatient look. She couldn't be expected to do anything else after being blocked from food for so long. Now he was declaring that the sight of her attempting to satisfy an extremely painful case of hunger was enough to put him off his own appetite, which was probably not attended to since the evening before or something equally comfortable. Having been put through emotion after emotion in the past hours, she didn't know what to think about this and just looked at him.

*Kade just laughed at the expression on her face.* "Just about, but not quite." *He said, then picked up the bowl and downed the rest of the contents in one go. After having finished, he set the bowl down and wiped off his mouth of anything that might have been left over.* "Well, now that food's done, you wanna head back to the barracks? You still look fairly tired."

Shrugging in mild affirmation, she put her fork back on the now-empty plate, not knowing what else to do with it. Such apparent excess in just about every department was still a shock to her and she was doing her best to maintain her composure. In all honesty, though, what she really wanted to do was just go over to Kade and give him a big hug for being so good to her in an otherwise horrible time. That probably wouldn't happen in the tavern, though. She rose from her chair slowly, looking to the door.

*Kade got up as well, noting the way that she was looking.* "I'm not surprised. You look tired." *Kade said as he started for the door, though walking slowly so as not to lose Siohen in the crowd, that would be far from good since she was so unaccustomed to big crowds and other creatures besides mice. It all must have been quite strange for her, scary even.*

Indeed, the crowd in the tavern did frighten Siohen, but she did her best to not show it. Instead, she just followed Kade towards the door, wondering what the route was back to the fort; she didn't remember, having spent the walk over trying not to cry and whatnot. Hopefully, Kade wouldn't just abandon her at the barracks door, though. If that happened, things would probably get worse yet again, assuming that was actually possible. Maybe it'd be worse if vermin attacked. No, it'd be better if vermin attacked, I'm good at fighting vermin, I'd probably feel more at home!

*Upon exiting the tavern, Kade checked behind him to make sure Siohen was still following him. She didn't exactly look scared or anything... just uncomfortable. Very uncomfortable.* "Are you ok?" *He asked as he waited for her to exit the tavern as well. It never hurt to ask, in this case it would probably help.*

The mouse responded with a half-hearted shrug. In truth, even Siohen herself didn't actually know. The feelings going through her were very unnerving and the sooner they got back to her room the better. She just wanted to lie down and try to process this stuff, and maybe use the parchment in her room to effectively communicate with Kade. It was a lot easier than attempting to speak at that time.

OOC: Communicate with Dantin? lol
IC: *Kade wasn't sure what to make of the shrug. It told him that all of this was just too much for her to take in at the moment and she just needed some time to stop and think through it all and try to figure out what's going on. He could understand the feeling. When he had first come here it was kinda like that because he had lost all his memory and social skills and everything so he sorta knew what she was going through.*

In Siohen's instance, though, she did have memories. They were just of a world that had banished her and left her to trek up to Otter's Fort where this chance encounter with Kade occurred. Her social skills were there, but she couldn't express them due to her speech impediment. It was as if she were reduced to the status of a social observer, but at the same time observed; obviously, the mouse was garnering some sort of attention from all this. At least they were nearing the fort now.

*Though there was still silence between them, it wasn't totally uncomfortable anymore. Kade didn't know as to why that was so, just that it was so. Well, now they had reached the fort and it was only a short walk to the barracks, which they covered in basicly no time at all. Upon reaching the barracks door, he opened it and stepped off to the side, still holding it open for Siohen to enter.*
