"Mostly. I do dress like a completely insane tyrant, right?" Or maybe just a normal tyrant. Linx didn't like to think of himself as insane, especially considering his background. It was just too feasible. "When we get back to the fort, I'll probably just head straight into the barracks... Do you have anything you need to unpack?"

"A tyrant, maybe, but not an insane one." What sort of question was that, anyway? Who wants to be branded as a tyrant? Lore just shrugged and tried to think of how to answer his next question. She didn't want to admit to having had all of her supplies stolen along her return journey to the fort, so she said the next best thing, "I gave my supplies away to someone who needed them more than I did." Perhaps it didn't sound feasible, but maybe Linx wouldn't notice.

Linx promptly burst into such raucous laughter that he had to support himself with his paws on his knees just to keep standing. He lifted one to point a finger at Lore, still laughing. "You... You gave your supplies away... Oh, man, that is rich stuff there. Is that a joke, a lie, or have you gone so completely insane that I should put one in your skull right now?..."

Lore blinked her eyes a few times. This was a first; she had never seen him laugh that hard, not ever. But still, she put herself on the defensive, and stated her case. Not like it was his business, what she did with her own things. "I was about a day away from the Fort, and I didn't really need any of what I had. There's nothing wrong with helping others sometimes." She didn't add that she thought maybe he was a tyrant after all. And as for her being insane, there was no chance of that.

"No, it's just... It's just how you said it..." Linx adopted the tone and manner of a high-class female for his next phrase. "I gave all my supplies to someone who needed them more..." Again with the laughing. Internally, the mouse was cringing at his inexcusably condescending antics and he was having to fight the urge to run away, or maybe just hit himself.

It was Lore's turn to start to laugh; Linx's attempt to sound like a female was completely laughable. For whatever reason he was putting on that act, Lore had no idea, and she didn't much care. It was humorous and that was it. "So you can be funny when you want to.."

"I can be sarcastic when I want to," Linx corrected. "Being funny is more fluid than that. But really, uh... I don't care about what you did with your supplies, actually. They're unnecessary now. Come on back to the fort and we'll, uh, stick some money in one of your paws, put a sword in the other and send you out to kill stuff. Then again, nearly every guy who's in the entire fort has a sword in his paw..." Linx, you are a terrible mouse. Did you know that?

"It took you long enough to realize that." Lore couldn't resist rolling her eyes at Linx's comment about her supplies. "And it also took you long enough to stop jawing," she threw out as a last jab.

"Hey, you think that's a rant? I've seen beasts go on so long, I can't even remember what they started with!" Actually, that happened a lot of the time. Linx didn't pride himself on remembering exact words. Who can do that, anyway?
OOC: "Hey, you think that's a rant? I've seen beasts go on so long, their text is longer than the size of my screen can accommodate!"

"It's called humor, Linx. A weak joke, probably, but still, humor nonetheless." Lore cracked a wry grin and laughed at his sudden defensiveness. "I've also seen beasts do the same. I learned to block them out, after awhile."

"Humor. That's... Humor. I don't get it." Linx held up his fingers in front of his face, still looking between them at Lore. "Hey, look at these. Is my paw funny? Are my fingers funny? I think they're hilarious. Look. Wiggle!" He moved his digits back and forth slightly, still looking at Lore intently. "That's more sarcasm, though..."

Lore just watched as Linx started wiggling his fingers, and suppressed the urge to roll her eyes. "You have a funny idea of what humor is, then, I suppose. Stick to sarcasm, it fits you better."

"It's easier to deal with than humor." The fort was finally in sight. Linx pointed to the gate as they approached it. "How do you like the wall guards all over the place? Fort compliment is rising all the time, all our zoning is coming into play finally. Population boom, you know. We practically have a new family moving in every day."

"That's good to hear. I'm sure Finnerator's happy about that." Lore paused and looked over at where Linx was pointing. "Wall guards, eh? That's always a good measure to take."

"Well, we have so many recruits these days, it's just wall duty, wall duty, wall duty. Not that we haven't got a lot of wall to cover, but still... Guards at every tower, every gate. And then there's the actual fort garrison, which is still... About three hundred. Thank you, trade taxes, we can barely pay these guys on internal ones." The mouse continued up to the gate beside Lore. It was still a sizable distance away and they probably wouldn't reach it for a couple more minutes.
