She looked around the room, and noticed that she hasn't seen the mouse, Archon, since they got here. "I thought you said that Archon was here." said Dianna. "Are you sure you didn't leave anything hot on while you were gone?" asked Dianna.

"Yes, I'm sure," Linx sighed. "He's probably in the kitchen, unless he's stopped cooking... But that's not here. That's the kitchen." At least it wasn't related to his private life. Every question he was asked ever seemed to be. "Maybe he's making dinner already."

"Food...would be nice for a change. I guess." said Dianna. She hadn't eaten for about a day now, and the only thing she has had was just water. "Um, do you mind if I..um, stay over? ..for dinner..?" asked Dianna. She didn't want to feel like she was asking to much out of Linx. But she was awfully hungry when Linx mentioned dinner.

"No, but I'd better tell Archon to make a little extra. One moment." Linx stood from the couch and slowly headed off to the kitchen. Things in Dianna's life were far worse than he'd suspected at first glance. She was starving herself to pay for her house and there was nothing she could actually do about it, except maybe stay over for dinner and get a better job.

Dianna waited on the couch for Linx to return. She started to feel like she did ask to much from Linx. She got up and headed the way that Linx went, only to tell him nevermind. But when she started to smell the aroma of food, she was persuaded not to say anything. "The..food smells good..!" said Dianna, for compliments to the chef.

"Tell that to Archon," Linx replied cheerfully upon returning. "Yes, I heard you. I informed Archon of the situation, and... You'll get your share of the casserole. Which there was going to be a lot left over from anyway." Food preservation was easy enough in the house he was in. The underground chamber beneath it which stored the house's ice reserve would work well enough for foods that needed to be kept cold.

"Casserole? I haven't had that in a long time." said Dianna. "Does Archon need help with anything? I'm a pretty good cook. I mean, that's if he wants the help." asked Dianna. She didn't want to sit around and wait, she atleast wanted to help out with the food that was going to be shared with her.

"No, he... He doesn't work well with beasts he doesn't know well when it comes to the kitchen, Dianna, I'd know," Linx grinned while sitting down beside her. "It's about ready know, really, he's just... Setting the table and stuff. It's nice to not have to do all that..."

"Oh, ok. I understand!" said Dianna. "So what about the othe people that live here? What are they like?" asked Dianna. She knew that they were into that sort of stuff, but she just wanted to know more about them, in case she ever did meet them.

"A lot of 'em are stories like you, actually," Linx shrugged. "I mean, a lot of them were literally taken off the streets. Otherwise hopeless cases here. There's me, who owns it, Archon, who helped buy it, uh... Lars chose to move here, Ellich didn't have anywhere else to live, Dantin was sick of being by himself in the barracks, Sinthin is a similar story, Mokwa we found in the tavern after he ran away from his village, Dengoro had nobody in his life at all, Kade tagged along with Dantin and... Seria, well, Seria we did pick up off the street."

"Huh..so what now? Do they have somebody? Besides each other?" asked Dianna. "Or are they still lonely?" Dianna couldn't really imagine what would be like to actually be taken in by someone else so that person could have a place to stay. But it must be an awful feeling to go through.

"Come on. Everyone in this house has everyone in this house," Linx responded flatly, looking at Dianna with mild surprise. "That's how it works here. One big family, except it's never really incest, I guess..." He laughed at the idea of that while glancing to the dining room, where some plates had apparently materialized on the table.

"Well, I mean. I didn't know. I just thought that they had other people outside of the house. That's all." explained Dianna. She looked at the table to and noticed the plates too. "I guess we should go to the table?" asked Dianna.

"No, he didn't call you over... It looks like we won't be having a large audience attending dinner tonight," Linx sighed. "A lot of beasts have friends outside the house. Not that many of the residents are here right now, so... Yeah, where would they be if not with friends?"

"In bed?" asked Dianna. "Or at the tavern? I'm not sure. Where would they be at?" asked Dianna. She took her attention off the plates, the sight of them made her more hungry. "Well...they could be out of Fort. But I don't have the slightest clue as to where they are."
