"They're probably out with friends," Linx replied apathetically. "Most of them have their own homes elsewhere, be it from family or in the barracks. They have... You know. They have friends." He did as well, but all of his friends lived with him. It provided for a tight social ring, among other things.

"True, so I guess it get's kinda lonely here when there isn't a whole lot of them staying here?" asked Dianna. She knew what it felt like to live by yourself. And she hated the fact that Linx went through somewhat the same ordeal as her.

"Well, no, Archon is here all the time... Mokwa's gone, but Dengoro is here a lot, too. I'm not totally alone, really, it isn't... That bad." Linx had been with Archon for nearly a year and they had become nearly entire inseparable. Out of all the house's residents, they were the two that spent the most time together and with nobody else.

"Oh, well, your lucky then." said Dianna. "Atleast you have someone at your home. No matter the number of creatures there at the time." sighed Dianna. She felt not up to the mark as Linx. As if even talking about each other's like/dislikes and things of those nature would matter in the end.

Linx took a look at Dianna, this new beast he'd taken from the street to get a new life in their home, and realized that it wasn't the first time things had gone this way. He was about to speak when Archon's voice cut him off.
The mouse was calling from the dining room. "Hey! Linx, get that friend of yours over here... And get down here, Gore! Dinner is ready!"

"I guess we should head to the table? He sounds mad!" said Dianna. She got up and headed towards the dining room. She walked in to see Archon standing there. "Um, uh..hi." said Dianna. She now saw another muscular mouse in her presence. She started to wonder if all the creatures that lived here had the same build.

"I'm not mad," Archon sighed. He was wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and matching shorts, which were baggy enough to allow free movement but little more. The table was mostly empty except for four plates with what appeared to be a seafood-based casserole on each. "I was gonna bring out the salad first, but I'm lazy, heh..."
Linx promptly sat and took a sip from his glass of water. He didn't seem to be keen on waiting. "Where's Gore?"

"Gore? But you didn't say a 'Gore' lived in your house." said Dianna. She sat down next to Linx, and took a sip of her water too. It felt good to her throat. And she was dying to have some of the food.

"Uh... That's Dengoro's nickname," Archon sighed as he seated himself across from Dianna. He didn't start eating just yet. "Now, Linx didn't tell me your name. What... What is it?"

"It's Dianna!" introduced Dianna. "Linx told me that your Archon. So you don't have to worry about introducing yourself." Dianna waited patiently for Dengoro to get into the dining room. But then she started to wonder what was taking him so long.

Dengoro arrived seconds after Dianna stopped speaking. He was clad in similar clothing to Archon, but his garments were black. He walked around the table and sat down beside Archon. "Hello... Dianna. As you may have guessed," the skunk greeted warmly, "I'm Dengoro."

"Hi, Dengoro." said Dianna. She was alittle confused towards the skunk. "How did you know my name?" asked Dianna. "I wouldn't think you would be able to hear it from upstairs." Of course, he could have been eavesdropping which that is bad sign of character on one person's part.

"I dunno, probably, uh, because when I was entering the living room I heard you say 'It's Dianna' very loudly," Dengoro sighed. He picked at his casserole idly, not hungry enough to actually set to it yet. "I didn't actually hear it from upstairs... I can't hear anything from there. Except maybe Archon yelling at me."

Dianna laughed at the thought of Archon yelling at Dengoro. She started eating her casserole, not fast, for she didn't want the others to think of her as a pig. When she got done eating a few fork fulls of the casserole she looked at the three different creatures sitting with her. "Why the quietness?" asked Dianna.

"Why the quietness? I dunno," Linx shrugged before spearing his casserole with two of his fork's tines. "It might arise from a general lack of... Conversation topics? I dunno."
Archon felt the urge to find something to talk about. It came to him easily enough and he promptly began speaking as soon as Linx stopped. "Well, what do you think of the casserole? It's the first time I've tried this recipe, it's very... Very fishy, isn't it? I mean, it has a lot of fish."
